2017 Trails Open London Registration Form
Trails Open 2017 will bring Londoners together to celebrate our trails, parks, natural heritage and environment on Earth Day (April 22nd & 23rd). This event, in partnership with Earth Day and London Clean & Green, will be a Canada 150 London Signature Event.

The London Heritage Council will once again spearhead and coordinate the annual “Trails Open London” event weekend. Trails Open London promotes trail use, natural heritage conservation and stewardship, physical activity and a healthy lifestyle, and environmental education. Trails Open London will allow Londoners and tourists to experience programs and activities presented by various environment and healthy lifestyle focused organizations.

Programming and activities could include hiking, environmental and natural heritage education, biking tours, bird watching, guided/self-guided tours, planting activities, geo-caching and etc.


Participation Criteria:

• Create environmental programming either at the Forks of the Thames or St. Julien's Park
• Organizations must be environmentally focused
• Must feature activities that are hands-on and/or interactive
• Activities that increase visitors’ awareness regarding natural heritage conservation and stewardship
• Physical and/or outdoor activities that promote a healthy lifestyle
• Educational activities that enhance visitors' knowledge of trails, parks and natural heritage in London
• Organizations must provide minimum 2-3 hours of programming at any one of the sites
• Must promote activities using Trails Open London and Canada 150 London supported branding and designs
• Free admission during the weekend


Submitting this application does not guarantee participation in Trails Open London 2017. The submitted applications will be juried, and shortly after participating organizations will be informed of the status of their application.

Deadline for applications is January 9th, 2017.

    This text may appear on the Trails Open London website, Canada 150 London website, and print materials . LHC has the right to edit this description if necessary. Changes to the description AFTER February 15th will appear online but NOT in the printed materials. Any changes must be sent to dghosh@london.ca.

    Upload an image and logo if you are a Trails Open London Site, Activity, or both.

    Images should be JPG format, colour and unreduced in size from the camera or scanner, since they may be used in online and print promotions.

    LHC will not be held responsible for copyright issues associated with the image. Please do not submit an image if ownership may be in question.

    LHC reserves the right to have unrestricted use of images in promotional materials. If credit lines are required, please embed it directly into the image- LHC cannot display credit lines outside the image.
  • Participation Agreement

    By virtue of entering into this agreement with the London Heritage Council, the Organizer identified in Section One of this registration form agrees:

    (a) to open the Activity identified in this registration form to the public on the days and at the times specified in Section Two;

    (b) that the Organizer has obtained any approvals or consents necessary to allow them to meet their obligations under this agreement.

    I agree that if the submitted activity is accepted to participate in Trails Open London 2017 the activity will have the necessary public liability insurance to lawfully participate in this special event.

    I agree that if the submitted site is accepted to participate in Trails Open London 2017 that reasonable measures will be taken to ensure the health and safety of members of the public, volunteers and staff throughout the duration of the event.

    I agree that is the London Heritage Council attempts to match a venue to my proposed Activity and a suitable venue cannot be found, I will make necessary adjustments to my Activity.

    By submitting this form, I understand that this application form will be juried and does not guarantee participation in Trails Open London 2017.

    I understand the deadline for submissions is 4pm Monday, January 9th, 2017.

    The parties agree the Organizer may withdraw from the Trails Open London event at any time BEFORE February 15th, 2017 by emailing written notice of the withdrawal addressed to Dhira Ghosh at dghosh@london.ca. After that date, the Organizer may only withdraw with the consent of the London Heritage Council, which consent shall not be unreasonably withheld.
