"In employment applications, it is a common belief that the employer has sole
prerogative on who will be employed. To a certain extent, such is true. After all, the
employer provided the demand for the position and it is the employer who selects and
engaged prospect employees. But, to my mind, job openings concern more than just an employer’s choice. Elusively, each applicant likewise bears the right to choose and to exercise such right. A vying employee has a multitude of opportunities available. And in the same manner that an employer can handpick a desired candidate, so too can the applicant.
Bearing this in mind and while scouring the site for possible employments, I chanced upon your opening. I may or may not be the perfect employee for you. Similarly, you may or may not be the perfect opportunity for me. Nonetheless, the brief details about your firm was more than enough to pique my interest. And by laying out my qualifications below, I hope it could pique yours too.
As formalities, I am Pat Soriano. With respect to education, expectedly, I have had several subjects on law, e.g. Political Law, Commercial Law, Civil Law, Remedial Law, Taxation Law, Criminal Law, Labor Law, and Legal and Judicial Ethics. In addition, I have had formal training as a Paralegal here in the Philippines. With respect to professional experience, I have likewise had a few. First, as a Policy Researcher with a government agency tasked with reviewing current policies and updating the same. Second, a brief stint as Paralegal for a US immigration firm handling mostly VAWA applications. Third, Legal researcher for a private individual involved in a California lawsuit, researching statutes and precedents, writing motions, answers, and oppositions. Fourth, and most recently, Legal Assistant-Team Leader to another US immigration firm handling mostly family- based applications. With respect to personal achievements, I have been opportune enough to garner the 9th spot nationwide in a previous law school assessment test.
