CWiC 2014 Emerging Scholar Application
The focus of CWiC's EST competition is not to find past award-winning speakers but to recognize outstanding young scholars who want to present their research with the help of CWiC Advisors.
Please answer the following prompts and submit by January 24th.

As you address the following five prompts, please do not exceed 1,000 words for all answers combined. (Do not include a working draft of a research paper or any supplementary materials. We will not review them.)
Describe the nature of your research and the stage of research that you are currently at (literature review, collecting data, writing results, etc.).
Explain how your research would interest an academically diverse audience.
Briefly note any previous public speaking experience and, more importantly, your interest in public speaking.
Explain why you would like to deliver the CWiC Emerging Scholar Talk.
If you are chosen to be an Emerging Scholar, CWiC student speaking advisors will coach you through the process of creating a scholarly presentation for a general Penn audience. Explain your interest in being coached by CWiC advisors.
