POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Analyst, Operations & Controls is responsible for providing thorough, objective analysis of the organization’s operating practices, policies and procedures with an emphasis on ensuring the company’s internal controls are operating effectively. This position is expected to assist in developing recommendations to improve and enhance Back Office operations based upon trading industry ‘best practices’. The Senior Analyst will work closely with the company’s Front Office and Middle Office management team to ensure business needs are addressed and take a leading role in developing the Back Office. The Senior Analyst will maintain a high level dialogue with senior management including the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer as well as internal and external auditors and consultants. The Senior Analyst will possess extensive knowledge of trading industry with direct experience managing all aspects of the Back Office, such as, establishing, maintaining and monitoring internal trade controls; managing daily trade confirmation and settlement activities; and guidance with trade-related treasury activities.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
 Sponsor, recommend and develop policies and approvals. Identify and recommend changes to process to achieve greater efficiency while maintaining a robust internal control structure.
 Ability to address complex business issues and be able to work independently and maintain high level dialogue with Company management, including the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer
 Manage and oversee the daily settlement process to include preparing detailed financial analysis including trend and ratio analysis with the ability to interpret and proactively identify issues and/or concerns.
 Formulate questions and directly engage with Front Office and Middle Office management teams to address any information, issues, or concerns.
 Coach and act as a Mentor to Back Office staff.
 Build a solid understanding of the Aramco Trading business (both within the Back Office and the broader organization).
 Act as Subject Matter Expert on Aramco Trading accounting and treasury policies and practices.
 Support internal and external audits.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE
 10-15 years’ experience managing Back Office operations in hydrocarbon trading.
 Must have hands on experience with an energy trading and risk management system, hedge accounting, financial statement preparation and related hedging notes in accordance with IFRS. Experience with Allegro and SAP are a plus.
 Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. CPA and/or Master's degree in finance or accounting (preferred)

SKILLS/ABILITIES
 Demonstrated knowledge of trade accounting and its practical application in an operating environment.
 Hands-on experience with an energy trading and risk management system. Experience with Allegro and SAP are a plus.
 Strong analytical skills including the ability to read and interpret company financial statements, cash flow, industry and competitive analysis and projections.
 Must be able to formulate questions and address issues/concerns in a team environment and on an independent and stand-alone basis with members of the management team.
 Strong interpersonal skills that allow for interaction across all levels of the organization.
 Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to complete assignments in a timely manner
