Granville County SPARE, Inc. does not guarantee the health or temperament of any animal, but will communicate all known information to the Rescue Partner. Granville County SPARE will, upon request, evaluate an animal and provide our opinions and observations to Rescue Partners, however, behavior in the shelter is not necessarily indicative of future behavior.

Once approved, in order to pull an animal from the Granville County Animal Shelter, an Authorized Representative of the Rescue Partner should email gcspare@aol.com indicating which animal(s) should be pulled on the Rescue Partner's behalf. It is agreed and understood that, although Granville County SPARE is listed on shelter paperwork and forms, ownership of said animal(s) transfers to the Rescue Partner requesting the animal immediately upon pulling from the shelter, at which time the Rescue Partner assumes full liability.

In the event sponsorship funds are collected by Granville County SPARE, Inc. for a particular animal, such funds will be used to pay Paypal fees, pull fees, then for any vetting or boarding that is requested by the Rescue Partner. Remaining funds will be transferred to the Rescue Partner via PAYPAL ONLY once the animal has been delivered to or picked up by the Rescue Partner. Granville County SPARE, Inc. is not responsible for any "pledges" or promises to sponsor animals made on our Facebook page, however we will gladly post your contact information for our followers and ask them to honor their pledges by donating to you directly. We only advertise ONLY the amount of sponsorship funds that we have actually collected.

Sponsorship funds are ONLY available to APPROVED Rescue Partners who have completed this form, have been thoroughly screened by Granville County SPARE, Inc. and have been notified of their approval. We do not allow "pass through" transfer of funds from an approved rescue to an unapproved rescue, and doing so is considered grounds for immediate revocation of "approved" partner status. We take very seriously our responsibility to our shelter animals to insure that they are being transferred to rescue organizations of the highest caliber. Funds collected for dogs who are not rescued by a Granville County SPARE, Inc. Rescue Partner are either refunded to the donor or used for other animals in need.

Granville County SPARE, Inc. offers periodic transport from NC to northern states, however the Rescue Partner is responsible for any alternate transport arrangements. If your animal is transported by Granville County SPARE, Inc. the cost is $25 per crate to help cover the cost of fuel.

If vetting is required prior to transport, we can provide veterinary contact information and we can transport the animal to/from vetting appointments. The Rescue Partner is responsible for contacting the veterinarian to insure that all requested services are provided, and payment arrangements must be handled between the veterinarian and the Rescue Partner. If sponsorship funds are available, an amount up to the amount of the veterinarian invoice can be transferred to the Rescue Partner on the day of the appointment. Remaining funds will be transferred after transport per our normal policy.

Granville County SPARE, Inc. is an all-volunteer organization. We do our best to monitor correspondence but may not be able to get back with you immediately to answer questions, etc. Please be patient and courteous. We treat all our Rescue Partners with concern and respect and, likewise, we have a zero tolerance policy for any rude or disrespectful communications directed toward our volunteers or officers.

Granville County SPARE, Inc. reserves the right to deny a Rescue Partner application or to revoke Approved status of a Rescue Partner for any reason whatsoever at the sole discretion of our board, at any time, with or without notice or explanation.
