"I have a wide range and multiple years of experience in taking calls. I have been with the BPO industry for five years now. I was able to work for three companies within that period. My experiences are different for each company. I would say that I am delighted with the journey I have had with my career so far.
My first role was as a Customer Service Representative in the biggest Retail Company in the US. I took calls from customers that are needing assistance checking their order status, getting a refund, and all other types of inquiries. I take about fifty calls a day, having to speak with individuals from all walks of life has refined my communication skills. I have developed active listening, empathy, confidence, and courtesy. What I enjoyed most about the CSR role was being able to connect with other people, it is a satisfaction for me to know that even in the smallest way I can make their day better.
After leaving my role as a CSR, I worked as a Provider Representative. In that role, I took calls from medical providers such as Doctors, Nurses, and other types of providers. My task is to assist callers with benefits, eligibility, and claims. As compared to my previous role, it was different because the callers were less likely to chat and would just demand the resolution right away. This is where I honed my business to business skills. I developed my critical thinking skills, and I learned how to create a win-win situation when conflicts arise.
My most recent role was as a Senior Recruiter at a Talent Acquisition Team. It was a very different experience speaking with applicants, as a recruiter I needed to use a different approach in connecting with them. Aside from the phone interviews, we also did sourcing of applicants and administrative tasks, so this job has really improved my office and multi-tasking skills. This is the role I find most enjoyable, because the talks were very natural and conversational, since the applicants intentionally try to connect with me, it only feels like I am having a chat with someone I know.
Overall, the diversity in experience I had has shaped me into a versatile individual. I know how to connect with people, I have great business to business skills, I am great at handling administrative tasks and I have a lot of other great qualifications because of those experiences I had. I am open to learning more and I am sure that I will continue to grow more with the opportunities that are yet to come."
