"I started my career in the BPO industry as an agent. I first got hired as a Technical Service Representative for focus direct. I supported a cellphone company and my job was to answer inquiries about the product and help them troubleshoot their device over the phone. I enjoyed my job because I personally love solving problems and with a technical account, that is what you do all day. I was also hired as a customer service representative for sales, chat and phone tech support. During my time as an agent, I was also a working student trying to pay my dues in college. I didn’t aspire for any position during these times simply because of the workload and schedule.
After I graduated from college, I went out and tried to get a promotion with a tech and sales account with the current company I was employed in. I was motivated and after nesting, I became the top sales agent for two months. I even pushed further and became the top agent for the next 2 months. The company decided they can use my expertise at this point and decided to let me handle the SME (subject matter expert) role. In the 6th month, I was given my own team and became an Operations Supervisor. I love every job, position and company I have been given a chance to work with. These are the times that made me realize that I love doing this kind of job and I excel at it as well.
After 3 years of being an Operations supervisor, I decided to start working from home due to some family issues. I started as an operations specialist. I enjoyed this position because I was able to learn how work from home companies work or how to make them work. I then became a medical VA. I also enjoyed this job because with my medical background it was easy for me to understand specific terms and was HIPPA certified. I also tried being a Real Estate VA. I love doing this work because I love calculating numbers in my head and as a Real Estate VA, you should be good with numbers especially with biddings. I then took the opportunity to become an eBay Manager. The one thing that I really loved about this job is the competitive market research. I was always on my toes making sure that our revenue is higher than our competitors or coming with a better package plan for our products.
Lastly, I was also employed as a Sales Manager for a dedicated sales team. This is where I grew professionally and as a human being. I was forced to mature simply because I was dealing with clients, our bosses and my entire team. I had to find the perfect balance for all parties involved. I enjoyed it because it was competitive and I had to use my analytical skills on a daily basis. My mantra was always Steel sharpens Steel. Being a sales manager, you will be pit against the sharks of the digital world and I survived it.
