“I have worked as an interpreter for non-English speakers for two different companies, Language Line Solutions and Ablio.
For Language line I worked for a year, that was a fast-paced environment and there were many different areas I had to cover as an interpreter, mostly insurance, government benefits, housing, 911 emergency calls, PTA meetings, medical appointments, etc. That was a very diverse experience because you never knew beforehand the situation you had to interpret in every call.
I found that job although challenging at times, very rewarding when the non- English-speaking customer acknowledged my work and told me how helpful I was to them. That was the best part of the job!
For Ablio I worked for over a year and a half, it is a company focused more like an “on-demand” service, the first interpreter to attend the booking is the one who got to interpret the call. There I didn’t have as many experiences as I did with Language line, however, I feel both jobs gave me a broader knowledge in several fields of customer service, understanding customer needs, and customer service.''
