  • Terms and Conditions

This agreement constitutes a contract for foster-to-adopt placement of the animal described above between AARCS and the Foster listed above.
  • I (Foster) acknowledge and agree that my intent in entering into this Foster-to-Adopt Agreement is to adopt the animal identified in this Agreement once the animal has been cleared for adoption by the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS). I agree to complete all required adoption paperwork and submit the applicable adoption fee in full within 48 hours of being notified that the animal is officially ready for adoption.
  • I acknowledge that AARCS has reviewed the medical file for the animal I am Fostering. AARCS has gone through all known upcoming medical needs.
  • I understand that the animal may require additional vaccination(s), deworming treatment(s) or other medical treatments before adoption and these must be completed at AARCS Safe Haven and Veterinary Hospital (5060-74 Ave SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 3C9). I will follow any and all advice, directions or instructions provided by the AARCS medical team.
  • I agree to transport my foster animal to AARCS Safe Haven and Veterinary Hospital (5060-74 Ave SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 3C9) for their booster vaccines and other medical needs that may arise prior to adoption.
  • I acknowledge that I understand the risks involved with fostering and agree to adhere to AARCS policies and procedures to keep both the animal and people safe.
  • I acknowledge that AARCS has provided me with a background of the animal’s behaviour. AARCS has reviewed all known behaviour with me. I understand that the animal’s behaviour/temperament may change in a new environment, over time or due to events in the pet’s life that may not have been presented during his/her time at AARCS and that it is my responsibility to ensure any behaviour concerns are brought to the attention of the behaviour team.
  • Welcoming an animal into your home is a huge commitment. Please keep in mind that any change, even a positive one such as moving to a new home, is stressful for animals. It can take an animal days and even weeks to fully settle into their new home. I understand it is important to be patient, understanding and willing to work with the animal while this transition into their new life and home is taking place.
  • I agree to absolve Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society and any of its members, of any responsibility for damages should they occur.
  • I acknowledge that I will follow AARCS policies outlined in the foster handbook while the animal is a foster.
  • Should for whatever reason I need to return my foster to AARCS, I understand that I must contact AARCS staff and give as much notice as possible. Placement of my foster may several weeks due to limited shelter space and the individual needs of the animal.
  • Any personal information collected is only used by Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society for the purpose defined at the time of the collection or a use that complies with these purposes. We do not share your information with any third parties.
  • I (Foster), agree to all of the terms of this contract and understand that non-compliance with the terms of this agreement gives AARCS the right to reclaim the animal.
