CAMP KODIAK CONTRACT 2023
  • CONDITIONS

    1. The camper and parents agree to abide by the rules, regulations and policies set forth by the Camp.

    2. The Camp reserves the right to dismiss any camper, without refund, whose conduct or influence it deems to be unsatisfactory or harmful to the best interests of the camper or the Camp. It is acknowledged that Camp Kodiak is not a program for campers with severe behavioural problems, nor a respite facility.

    3. There are inherent risks associated with attending an overnight summer camp and participating in camp activities. Every measure will be taken to ensure the health and safety of each camper. In the event of sickness or accident, however, the Camp, its officers and employees shall not be held liable beyond the limits of insurance coverage. All claims and/or litigation shall take place under the laws and jurisdiction of the Province of Ontario. Should a camper require outside medical, surgical or dental services, the parent or legal guardian thereof must provide written and/or verbal authorisation for such outside medical, surgical or dental services. In the event of an emergency, every effort will be made by the Camp to receive verbal and/or written authorization from a parent or legal guardian, but if necessary, the Camp will act in loco parentis. All such services shall be paid for by the person or organization responsible for the payment of Camp fees. It is the responsibility of the parents or legal guardians to ensure that the camper's medical form is filled out accurately and in full, and that the completed form is submitted to the Camp by May 15th.
  • 4. The Camp shall make no financial allowances for the late arrival, early departure, or any absence by the camper for any reason.

    5. There will be a charge of $100.00 on all cancellations prior to April 1st. No refunds will be made after that date; however, if COVID-19 protocols are still in flux, the date to receive a refund for camp fees paid may be extended.

    6. While every effort will be made to return lost, misplaced or stolen property, the Camp shall not be held liable for these articles. Nor shall it be held liable for broken or damaged property.

    7. The Camp has the right to use photographs and videotape of the camper in its promotional material.

    8. The Camp reserves the right to cancel this contract without penalty by written notice to the person or organization responsible for the payment of Camp fees.

    9. Neither the Camp nor the person or organization responsible for the payment of Camp fees shall be held accountable or penalized under the terms of this agreement for failure to perform which is occasioned by war, strike, pandemic, public health emergency, act of God, natural disaster, or other casualty beyond reasonable control of either Party.

    10. The Camp has the right to share information regarding this camper with members of the Camp Kodiak staff and with any internal or external medical, surgical, dental or pharmaceutical service providers.

    11. The Camp has the right to provide the camper’s name, address, telephone number and e-mail address to his/her cabin-mates.

    12. The Camp has the right to provide the name of the camper, the name of his/her parents and their contact information to our pharmacy.

    13. This document shall serve as the only contract between the parties and supercedes all other verbal or written contracts between parties, and contains herein all terms and conditions.

    14. The proper law of this contract is that of Ontario, Canada.
  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING COVID-19

If emerging COVID-19 protocols require us to limit cabin occupancy, this may be done by a combination of factors including the date of campers’ registration and appropriate social groupings. Kodiak requires that all participants receive the COVID-19 vaccination. Kodiak policies regarding vaccination requirements will be shared prior to the start of the summer. The Camp will take all necessary precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at camp, but the Camp will not be held responsible if a camper contracts COVID-19 while at camp or as a result of having attended Camp Kodiak.
