  • High School Religious Education and Confirmation Preparation

    High School Religious Education and Confirmation Preparation meet 1 1/2 hours per week. Classes are Wednesday from 7:30pm to 9:00pm in Grace Hall.

    Confirmation preparation begins in the spring of the student's sophomore year. To understand the Confirmation preparation process we have answered a few of the most asked questions below. We know we can’t answer all your questions about Confirmation here so please call the Youth Ministry office if you have additional questions.

    1) When will I be confirmed?

    In light of Diocesan Policy on Confirmation, St. Paul will offer Confirmation formation in the spring of a student’s sophomore year of high school.

    2) What is the Religious Education requirement for Confirmation?

    Our hope is that students are continually involved and engaged in religious education, youth ministry and the life of their parish. However, pursuant to the Diocesan Policy for Confirmation, students must have, at a minimum, the two years immediately prior to beginning Confirmation formation in a formal parish Religious Education, Comprehensive Youth Ministry or Catholic School program. At St. Paul, since our formation will begin in the spring of the tenth grade year, students will have to be active in the program from their second semester eighth grade year until Confirmation begins in the spring of their tenth grade year.

    Students are required to attend 80% of the religious education classes or be enrolled in a Catholic School with theology and/or religious education classes.

    3) What if I attend a Catholic School?

    If you are enrolled in a Catholic School with theology and/or religious education classes you are not required (but encouraged) to attend the RE classes. All students regardless of school must participate in the parish Confirmation formation in the spring of the tenth grade year.

    4) What do I do if I was enrolled in a RE program in another parish before coming to St. Paul?

    All we would need is a letter from the parish you were attending classes at that you were enrolled there and are a student in good standing. This can come from the Pastor, Director of Religious Education or the Director of Youth Ministry.

    5) Requirements:

    a) Forty community service hours
    b) Two weekend retreats
    c) Monthly attendance at Sunday youth group
    d) Monthly attendance at Sunday, 5pm Mass

  • High School RE Payment Policy:

    Listed below is the payment policy for the High School Religious Education program at St. Paul Catholic Church for the 2017-2018 school year:

    As with all programs there is a cost associated with keeping the program running. Although we would like to provide this program free of cost to our student we are unable to do that at this time. We work hard to keep the cost as low as possible. This is the fourth year in a row that we have been able to avoid a cost increase.

    In reviewing the materials and supplies needed for the program the following tuition and retreat fees have been set.

    1) Tuition Cost: $65.00 per student (no family rates)
    2) Retreat Cost: Between $60.00 - $80.00 (per retreat - paid at the time of retreat registration)

    NOTE: Two weekend retreats are offered each year, {one late Fall, one in the Spring}. Students are required to attend two retreats in the two year process. The Spring retreat is a required retreat for students receiving their Confirmation in the Spring.

    Additional Information:

    To assist you with the payment process you are able to pay online with a credit/debit card or PayPal account with this form or pay in-person at St. Paul prior to the start of class.

    1) Tuition for K-8 and high school students MUST be paid separately.

    2) You are allowed to pay a partial payment online with this registration form and pay the remainder at a later date either online or in-person at St. Paul.

    3) You are allowed to submit the registration form with no payment and pay in-person at St. Paul.


    5) Tuition MUST be paid prior to the first day of class.

    6) Refunds are allowed up to the first day of class. After that refunds will only be given with the approval of the Pastor or Business Administrator.
