Class: Introduction to Devising
Devised theatre is an engaging and empowering form of storytelling, created through a class or rehearsal process. This class will explore approaches to expand your actor toolbox and inspire you to create your own work, while continuing to identify and utilize “craft” elements of acting techniques in individual-based exercises. We will build narratives and characters in new ways, focusing on individual solo work and storytelling forms. You will leave with your mind opened to exciting, non-script specific approaches to our work as actors, tools to develop solo projects, and much more!

    • Attend all class sessions. Failure to attend all classes you register for will result in suspension from participating in future Phamaly classes.

    • Complete all assignments to the best of your ability.

    • No cell phones allowed during class time unless it is a necessary accommodation

    • No pictures within class time.

    • Participate in all acting exercises and scene work.

    • No food allowed during class. There will be a 10 minute break for any snack needs.

    • Address any issues that arise privately with the instructor, and leave any outside concerns at the door. Be focused and attentive towards the class!
