We are currently accepting nominations for our 10th Annual Honoring Extraordinary Women Awards which will be presented during the Pittsburgh Entrepreneur conference luncheon. We honor exemplary businesswomen of the Pittsburgh area who have excelled in a variety of areas. Below are the award categories. Nominations will be accepted until July 15, 2020

All nominees will be highlighted at the event, on the event page, and within our membership databases. The winner will be announced at the Pittsburgh Entrepreneur Conference, held on July 30, at Crown Plaza South Pittsburgh. The nominee will receive complimentary admission to the event.

The categories are:

2020 Pittsburgh Business Chief Award

This award will honor C-level women chief executives for the leadership, business and civic contributions they have made to their organizations and to the Pittsburgh community.

The committee meets and select executives – by consensus – using the following criteria:

- Member of WSBA
- Someone who is an innovator and leader and has overcome difficult challenges to drive company growth and market share.
- The individual continues to use their expertise to mentor women in the Pittsburgh Region.


2020 Small Business Owner of the Year

This award will honor the woman entrepreneur who excels at strategy, operations, finances, problem solving, overcoming adversity and giving back to her community. We recognize her accomplishments versus the size of her business.

The committee meets and select an entrepreneur – by consensus – using the following criteria:

- She is an active member of WSBA for at least 1 year
- She has been in business for at least 3 years.
- The individual continues to assist women in reaching their potential.
- The individual’s body of work has had an impact within the Pittsburgh region.


2020 Community Champion of Pittsburgh

This award recognizes an individual who exemplifies community leadership through actions that reflect the mission of the organization and has helped to make Pittsburgh a better place to live.

The committee meets and select a champion – by consensus – using the following criteria:

- Any individual that works or volunteers for a non-profit that benefits Pittsburgh or the surrounding areas.


2020 WSBA Business Woman of the Year

This award honors a WSBA member that is recognized as the most influential businesswomen within WSBA. We are looking for women from every industry and profession — women who have made a difference in their communities and have blazed a trail for many others to follow in their footsteps.


The committee meets and selects a WSBA member – by consensus – using the following criteria:

- She must be an ACTIVE member in WSBA for a minimum of 1 year
- She supports the personal and professional growth of other WSBA members.
- She has supported and assisted in the growth of WSBA as an organization
