About:
Under the Industry Transformation Map (ITM), one of the key areas to raise productivity is by stepping up the adoption of DfMA to replace labour-intensive construction methods. While precast construction has been used in Singapore for many years, there is still a need to increase the adoption rate and improve site productivity to meet the target set in the ITM report. To build up knowledge and competency in the area of mechanical connections for precast concrete components, BCA is developing a Guidebook for Mechanical Connections for Advanced Precast Concrete. It is targeted to launch in 2H 2018. As part of the development, BCA has formed a Precast Technical Committee comprising professionals along the construction value chain to offer technical expertise and inputs on precast construction, and to review the Working Committee’s recommendations on the guidebook.

BCA has organised the 1st Industry Consultation-cum-Workshop for the APCS guidebook on 24 Aug 2017 to seek industry’s preliminary comments on the outline/contents of the guidebook. As a continual effort to engage the industry, BCA will be organising the 2nd Industry Consultation-cum-Workshop to:
a) Seek industry’s comments on the draft guidebook
b) Create awareness amongst the industry on advanced precast concrete solutions
