night hello to my chatters I want to go into a couple very important things about the old chia seed we did a beautiful video on this not too long ago but there are so many questions coming along so I'm kind of gonna go through kind of like a cue a comment questions and answers that I have kind of put together but let's talk a little bit out the amazing things about chia seeds so I'm going to talk about some questions that many of you are gonna have I'm sure to answer a lot of them it definitely helps you lose weight it takes about 13 times the amount absorbs a fluid of the water absorbs it holds the amounts about 13 times the amount of water it absorbs into the chia seed and it slows down degenerate slows down not degeneration it slows down digestion hopefully it probably does slow down degeneration too because of the fact you are getting omega threes but it does slow down digestion it prevents you from overeating makes you feel fuller it reduces the fat intake if by actually making you eat less it helps curb your appetite less likely to eat fatty foods it balances and regulates a blood sugar so to to the fact that you know when you're taking like sugary drinks or even any kind of sugar when you put it with the Chia the fiber slows down that that high spike of sugar so it actually gives the the the system a real nice balance you don't get that spike you don't get that fall where you feel like you're gonna fall asleep very healthy for you very good for the pancreas it actually prevents ridiculous because the solubility of the fiber helps to ensure that the diverticulitis does not become trapped so basically you're you're preventing the intestines from out pocketing you're getting the nice v or the sweeping in there it boosts probably to me the best omega-3 strength food of the world that by weight for weight this has the highest amount of omega-3s omega-3s actually will help raise that mega three ratio to omega-6 and it will actually keep you healthier it will slow down and diminished inflammation it's the omega sixes that causes a lot of the inflammation we spend most of our our diet eating omega sixes but by increasing the ideal amount of omega-3s by eating the chia and to me this is my favorite and the most healthiest and i'll go into a few things with you in just a moment it helps boost energy it fights aging so obviously it does slow down degeneration slows down aging and excellent for lowering cholesterol increasing the HDL is lowering the total cholesterol and i believe it lowers e triglycerides because it is a sweeper it helps cleanse the system so i just wanted to go over that with you and what i love about this is what's amazing is that it's got so many amazing beautiful phytonutrients minerals vitamins like copper iodine sulfur potassium zinc manganese salmon all different kinds of antioxidants it's got this great great things for you and so i wanted to just talk about that briefly i also want to briefly state that just one ounce which is two tablespoons of chia seeds contains 139 calories four grams of protein nine grams of fat 12 grams of carbohydrates 11 grams of fiber I mean imagine fiber is like the magic for you you know the more fiber you can get the healthy that you are gonna be the less problems you're gonna have is this gonna clean and sweep and it's got that nutty flavor now the nice thing about the old Chia is that you can not only make chia pudding which I'm going to go through a couple of things with you but you can make Chia drinks a lot of the the market is coming out with drinks like raspberries and pomegranate drinks and they're adding the chi in there living it and you're buying it they have it you know at the natural health food stores and actually I'm sorry in your mouth your regular markets are having it in today it's just coming up everywhere so the question I'm gonna go in some Q right now about the Chia and the first question that comes up is how long do you have to soak that you said soak the seeds people think you have to soak them overnight nowobviously the longer you soak it the more water it's going to absorb but once you get the maximum peak of water to where it absorbs it's not absorbing any more water so the bottom line is that I like to soak them me with almond almond milk almond almond milk to me is just it's not as thick as coconut milk some people like coconut milk mm up to me tastes better you can get it sweetened unsweetened there's different flavors vanilla you can get in there I like the vanilla kind I don't like to add sugar to my almond milk I don't like buying it with sugar I like to add honey raw honey some people like molasses and other things but to me raw honey is the healthiest it's got the antimicrobial properties but you know the less you the less you soak it I mean in the end the seed with the water or with your your almond milk or your coconut milk whatever using obviously it's gonna it's gonna be a little more liquidy the longer you soak it the more it's going to absorb this more the pudding is going to start to you're going to get those benefits so how long you need to keep the Chia in this water first of all people are asking how much Chia should I put towards how much milk or water I like to use 3 to 4 to 1 to 3 to 4 3 to 4 meaning I like to maybe put if I have a cup of milk or a cup of almond milk in it I'm gonna put maybe a 1/4 or 1/4 pretty much or 1/3 to that 1 cup that's what I like to do it depends how thick you like it obviously the more chia you put in in the race the thicker is going to become so depending on what you're doing if you want to drink it you're gonna put in less if you're gonna want to make a custard or pudding and what I like to do cuz I'm kind of skipping around from the top of my head I I have chia seed every morning but to me the best way that I can recommend it is the the the almond milk I take a whole big cup almond milk I take like a third of the chia seeds a fill to the bottom I pour the almond milk in I mix it up right away I put cacao in there because cacao is just filled with great great vitamins and minerals and cacao actually lowers cholesterol and it's got great health benefits you don't even taste it it's it's the cacao is the raw cocoa some people like cocoa it's a little sweeter that's okay it's not as healthy as a cacao but if you roast cacao it turns into cocoa and cocoa obviously has a better you know roasted flavor but what I like is I put some raw honey in there I take a little cinnamon I whip it up takes me about three minutes okay I get it nice and thick I step I start to see it get nice and thick I put in the refrigerator several hours overnights better and then I take fresh coconut cream I take that fresh coconut cream I put a little bit on the top you know or you could mix a little bit in and I put some fresh you know raspberries or strawberries or fresh berries or fruit and let me tell you that the first thing in the morning that will do wonders for you and I'll tell you it will really make you go to the bathroom and I'm saying go to the bathroom it will clean you up okay I will tell you it will clean you out it's really a beautiful thing all right let's move on with some q and a's here health benefits of chia seeds excellent probably the best source of omega-3s helps raise HDL cholesterol as we talked about the the good cholesterol helps sweep the bad cholesterol out it's got great fiber and their iron and calcium amazing calcium people are you know looking at cows when I look at calcium that whole food will give you calcium that will keep your bones nice and strong how do you drink it people what I recommend to do is I think it's best to use water in this situation you could put water in there you can put this a couple tablespoons of chia seeds so maybe a cup of cup and a half of water you can stir it up you can leave it in the fridge if you want and then what you can do you can take the juice of your choice you got fresh pomegranate juice she got fresh strawberry fresh orange whatever you want to do and you can just pour the juice in mix it up you can make a little bit more and drink it and those chia seeds are nice and soft a question that comes up with me is you know all the time is can I eat raw chia seeds I don't recommend it raw raw chia seeds the only thing that I can say about raw chia seeds and I can talk about this in another video if you have a lot of this is something you never knew I'm glad you're here is that if you have a lot of acid reflux by eating raw chia chia seeds that will help your reflux tremendously that will absorb the acid well you have a lot of acid it will absorb quicker then hydrochloric acid will absorb quicker interested you can do the studies in there I'm gonna do a video on that for you so I think that's a great thing but the reason why I don't like eating raw because of the fact that you can choke on it sometimes Lodge that happens very very seldomly but if you put it like on your cereals or in your fruit as it sits it'sgoing to absorb fluid and within five minutes can absorb I always think is better to absorb there's so many more properties when it absorbs when it doesn't absorb that's just my opinion from my reading and I'll just gonna leave it just as that because they talk about adding these seeds to like oatmeal and and other sprinkle on top of salads but I think it's better when it absorbs fluid I think it works better it's easier digestible and again when it is and when it is absorbed with these fluids it seems like it just the therapeutic properties just work better how long can you keep cheetahs seeds in the refrigerator or I'm sorry not not used but how long from the date that you buy it generally most manufacturers will tell you approximately two years so you can keep it for approximately two years in the package but they say it's good up to two to four years if it's properly labeled I always recommend get the good organic healthy chia seeds don't go cheap on this because this is something that's got too many important properties the taste of chia seeds if you haven't had this before it's kind of like like a poppy seed it may be small its crunchy as it becomes more absorbed with liquid to become sweeter more like the tapioca pearls but everyone's got their own little taste is it safe there in pregnancy absolutely I see no problem is actually gonna help your development of your baby you're giving it great nutrients where's the chia seed come from primarily southern Mexico and Guatemala the central part of the world here where we say Central America we talk about preparing chia seeds I'm not going to go too much into that but you know there's two ways primarily we're gonna drink it or we're gonna eat it there's gonna be real creative but the chia pudding I love to keep it in the refrigerator get up first thing in the morning taking a couple scoops I recommend a good two or three tablespoons daily that will really help you people are asking how much should I have one serving is as I said 139 calories he's got 12 grams of carbohydrates 9 grams of fat and obviously you want it unprocessed it's the nice thing about it is it's got no gluten in it this is just the natural chia seed are chia seeds inflammatory oh boy they're anti inflammatory it's a great thing to have because of the fact that most people most of my my listeners here have pain have inflammation have had herniated discs had post surgeries I've had have had some type of inflammatory or joint condition and this is an inflammatory an anti inflammatory type of a food because the Omega 3s Omega 3s is probably one of the best anti-inflammatory you can have in your system and you know what it's better to get natural anti-inflammatory from foods than from supplements because this is the whole state that God or Mother Nature has processed or created it let's say so um the only problem that I have with supplements is that you don't know how many interactions that supplement is interacting with if it's a drug you're taken or other supplements you're taking I just read an interesting article on minerals that when you take too many minerals at one time they compete with each other and you may not be assimilating the proper minerals but when it comes to the whole food it's like eggs people think about cholesterol you know cholesterol is bad for me and my cholesterol is gonna be high I want to eat the egg whites give me give me five egg whites all right and like 20 pieces of cheese so I'm just kiddin so eat the whole egg but eat organic eggs if you can that's composed of where the way mother nature has designed it that's going to work the best in your system rather than just eating egg whites or just eating the yolk or the cholesterol when you eat you know omega-3s it's better to get it from the Whole Foods there's no question so don't let anyone try to persuade you from buying something because that's not the way it's gonna be chia seed as I said is 100% gluten-free people are very concerned about that it is the powerhouse on the block it is very very high as we say in omega-3s and when it comes to baking there's a lot of good things you can do for that they're mentioning about flax seeds I'm not going to go into the flax seed end of it but I just wanted to bring out some very important things are these question here is about losing weight due to the high fiber and protein content chi and seeds should be able to help you lose weight it will help you lose weight because of the fact that there is something another fiber I don't know if people are heard of its called glucomannan if i say that correctly i used to use as years back ago glucomannan is similar to me like the Chia see the glue come in is a fiber that when you put liquid or the glue comein it kind of swells and you get swelling in your system it's gonna slow down the digestion it's gonna slow down your appetite but the Chia see to me it's amazing because it expands in the stomach it makes you feel full and itslows the absorption of food so if you are slowing down the absorption of digestion that means you don't feel hungry you don't have to eat that is one of the keys of losing weight besides the fact that's a lot I want to talk about that but I won't go into that this program on weight loss so the chia pudding is good keeping it in the fridge is important regarding the pregnancy yes it's healthy and you know those are the primary things that I wanted to mention about the chia seeds so healthy and listen where can you eat foods and lower cholesterol lower triglycerides increase HDL s help your heart because this is a heart health nutrient there is there are so many good things and this is about the only food that I can brag about where I can't find any problems with it you can't OD on it there are no side effects with it it's not interacting with any medications there's no known conditions that I have heard worse injured anyone or hurt anybody this is just a whole natural food and I think it's a miracle food because it helps people's lives it will get you to live longer it will get you to feel better it will give you energy at balance of sugar and if you know people out there who take to me I think raw honey is number one all right now people we've we've talked I'm sorry I want to say people ladies and gentlemen we've talked about the stevia all right the stevia obviously the plant it has no calories probably it's great for diabetics but if you're a diabetic pre-diabetic or not even a diabetic and you are eating high-fiber because this is high-fiber and so I mentioned about estrogen levels it's the flax seeds that got the estrogen problems I don't see estrogen problems and chia seeds it's the flax seeds yeah there may be some some overlap with that but none of those studies really came up about anything of any contraindication with chia seeds the bottom line is that matter what you do in life you still have to be smart and do everything in moderation I'm not gonna tell everyone out there to drink a whole bag you know a gallon of chia seeds because it's good for you do it in moderation all right just like you know we had a big thing on water intake people are telling me well they heard sir other doctors say only drink when you're thirsty I mean studies show is that when people were 50 years of age the brain doesn't interpret the the thirst as fast and so you know why are people having heat strokes and dying so the bottom line is if you drink more water and you don't need it and you're healthy your your kidneys will filter it out and you're gonna cleanse your system is you know it's a good cleanser so but when it comes down to food you got to be smart even though if I tell you apples are healthy don't eat 20 of them a day just use common sense but here is something I really hope that it will hit home
