2024 Next Narrative Monologue Competition Entry

Welcome to the 2023-24 Registration for the Next Narrative (TM) Monologue Competition!

We are excited that you have chosen to apply for this event.

ELIGIBILITY
All high school students in grades 9-12, still enrolled in high school as of May 2023, are eligible to participate. In order to compete in the Atlanta Regional Competition, Atlanta must be the closest regional city to your location.

COMPETITION DATES
To compete, you must be available To attend one of the preliminary dates, the Semi-Finals and Regional Finals listed above, as well as the National Competition, May 2024, in New York City.
This year the competition dates are:

Preliminaries -
JANUARY 31 - LITHONIA HIGH SCHOOL (CLOSED)
FEBRUARY 7 - HERITAGE HIGH SCHOOL (CLOSED)
FEBRUARY 14 - LANGSTON HUGHES HIGH SCHOOL

Semi-finals -
FEBRUARY 17- CLAYTON COUNTY PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

Atlanta Regional Finals -
MARCH 11 - ALLIANCE THEATRE COCA-COLA STAGE

COMMUNICATION
Once you have registered, you will be notified via email of the receipt of your application and any updates regarding the competition.

EMAIL is our PRIMARY method of communication. Be sure to add education@truecolorstheatre.org to your "safe" list and check your email regularly, including your spam/junk folder.

Before you submit, be sure to CONFIRM that all of your information is entered correctly. This is extremely important in assisting us in contacting you with updated information, including all you need to know along the way to the competition.

Note that the materials and language used for/in this competition are mature in nature. You must have parental/legal guardian consent to participate.

  • PRELIMINARY DATE AND LOCATION

    Please choose one of the preliminary dates and locations to compete in the first round of the competition. Each competition lasts from 4:30pm-7:00pm at each site. Once you have completed your application. You will be assigned a competition time slot via email.
  • YOUR SCHOOL AND/OR AFFILIATED ORGANIZATION

    Please complete the information below in regards to the school/organization you will be representing (i.e., Boys and Girls Club, YMCA, All Stars, High School, etc).

    When completing your Teacher's information, please make sure all contact information is correct.

    Within the next three (3) business days you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not attend a residency school, we'll also send to you a form to sign up for 2 of the 3 master classes.
