HUD Grants on the Ground
Lessons from Learning Lab Cities
July 8, 2020, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM ET

NO LONGER ACCEPTING REGISTRATIONS

Cities in the Learning Lab are committed to providing safe and healthy housing for all residents, a task that is especially urgent and challenging during the COVID-19 pandemic and recovery, with the knowledge that lead paint and other housing hazards are disproportionately concentrated in communities of color. Funding is a key constraint in meeting housing repair needs. In this session, Learning Lab will engage in a group dialogue with peer cities who have successfully used their HUD Lead Hazard Control grants to address housing hazards in their community. The conversation will be supported by field experts who can provide input on how your city can apply for a HUD grant. Featured cities will share what they have accomplished using the grant, how they stood up their programming and infrastructure, and what advice they have for cities just starting out. This session will build on the June 25th presentation by Yolanda Brown of HUD’s Office of Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes, which will provide background on HUD’s grant programs.
