Coping with Compassion Fatigue Workshop
Compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma, and burnout are frequently experienced by those working in caring and crisis response professions. This training provides tools to individuals and workplaces to better prevent and cope with these experiences.

As a result of this training, you will be better able to:
• Define vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout
• Identify common signs and symptoms of vicarious trauma
• Identify strategies for seeking support when experiencing vicarious trauma
• Apply strategies and practices to prevent or reduce vicarious trauma
• Define self-care
• Identify self-care practices to implement at work and in their personal life

This workshop will be hosted by STAR via Zoom on Friday, November 20, 2020 from 1:00-4:30 p.m.

This workshop is open to members of the general public. Continuing education credits for counselors and social workers are available. The cost of this workshop is $25 for general admission and $50 for counselors and social workers seeking continuing education credit.

Participation in each workshop is limited to 35 people. Pre-registration and payment are required to reserve your spot. Each participant must register separately.

This program is approved for 3.0 General contact hours for social workers by Sexual Trauma Awareness and Response as authorized by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners. This program has been approved for 3.0 General contact hours for counselors. Sexual Trauma Awareness and Response has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6971.
