HEALING PAWS ANIMAL RESCUE - adoption application
Healing Paws Animal Rescue is a small organisation helping the stray animals on the Greek island of Zakynthos. We are registered as a non profit organisation in Greece and we are proud to have recently achieved UK charity status.

We do our utmost to find the best homes for the stray and abandoned animals from the Island. These lovely dogs have been saved from being shot, poisoned and/or starved. We can easily send them to live in the UK or other European countries.

All of our dogs and puppies are very well socialised, living with other dogs, puppies and cats. They are also child friendly unless otherwise stated in their description. All puppies will need training & probably additional toilet training. ALL PUPPIES WILL NEED TO BE NEUTERED WHEN THEY ARE OLD ENOUGH.

PLEASE BE AWARE we do NOT home our dogs or puppies to homes where there are children under 5 years unless there is an existing dog in the home.
Additionally, homes with children under 10 years MUST have previous experience with a dog. We cannot allow families with no experience to adopt one of our puppies unless experience is proven.

A home check is always carried out prior to any of our dogs being adopted, usually independently by someone that lives close to you and is already involved in animal rescue. This ensures the right dog or puppy is matched to the right family.

When you are sure that you wish to proceed and are serious about adopting one of our puppies, the cost of the preparation for each dog or puppy is £135 and is due on completion of a successful home check.

The £135 is given directly to the vet for all the work needed and includes all vaccinations, Rabies, Passport, Microchip, flea and worm treatment all of which are legal requirements to enter the UK. Blood tests are also made on adult dogs to ensure they do not have any internal parasites or diseases. A puppy has to be twelve weeks old before they can have their rabies vaccination and can then travel twenty one days later or when the next available transport leaves. Transport is £280 (so total £415 for everything) We are reliant on overland transport and have to be a little flexible as dates can change due to ferries, weather etc. The transport cost is due to be paid a week prior to your dog travelling to the UK. This is via bank transfer to the driver, details will be provided in ample time for you to do this.

New owners do need to be prepared to travel to pick the dogs up. This is from Clacket Lane services on the M25 in the South, an M6 drop for the Midlands and a Manchester drop for the north. The transporter will keep in contact with you and give you an estimated time of arrival but we ask owners to be very flexible on the day of arrival and be prepared for a later collection time as delays are sometimes encountered. Or indeed an earlier time as we obviously don't want the dogs to be on the van any longer than necessary.

THANK YOU FROM THE HEALING PAWS TEAM
