  • Nominee Information

  • Eligibility Criteria

    Crawford Award nominees must be college or university teachers assigned at least half-time during the academic year to teaching a mathematical science in a public or private college or university (from two-year college teaching through teaching at the Ph.D. level) in the State of Wisconsin. Those on approved leave (sabbatical or other) during the academic year in which they are nominated qualify if they fulfilled the requirements in the previous year. Nominees must have at least seven years teaching experience in a mathematical science, and must be members of the Mathematical Association of America. Previous winners are not eligible. Current members of the Wisconsin Section Executive Committee are not eligible.

    The nominator(s) should:

    Write a one-to-two page letter of nomination that provides context and evidence supporting their nomination as related to the selection criteria. (See https://www.wisconsin.maa.org/awards)

    Include some information about their relationship to the nominee.

    Attach any supporting materials they would like to submit (nominee's CV, links to other information or documentation, student testimonials, etc.) as part of their nomination package.

    In the happy event that your candidate is selected for the Crawford Award, you will be called upon to help gather additional supporting material so that your candidate becomes a candidate for the Haimo Award. An outline of the nomination process can be found on the MAA website.
