MT2C Classroom Tutor Application (for Spring 2019)
DUE FRIDAY, OCTOBER 26TH
  • We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic San Diego Mesa College students who will serve as an MT2C Classroom Tutor (CT) for the Spring 2019 semester.

The Classroom Tutoring Program is part of the Mesa Tutoring and Computing Centers (MT2C). For more info on our tutoring services, visit: http://www.sdmesa.edu/mt2c

CTs are assigned to attend a specific class. During each class session, the CT identifies concepts and topics students are having difficulty with and then leads a CT session (tutoring session) immediately after class. These sessions utilize equitable tutoring practices, peer interaction, and guided study so that students collaborate with one another to improve success and retention.

    Eligibility Requirements:
    1. Have received an A or B in the class(es) you wish to tutor for.
    2. Enroll in a minimum of 6 units at Mesa during the semester you will tutor.
    3. Be a Mesa student in good academic standing with a minimum 2.5 GPA.

    Duties:
    1. Attend assigned class.
    2. Lead tutoring sessions after each class meeting.
    3. Submit weekly reports.
    4. Attend all mandatory training.
    5. Actively promote learning and study skills during tutoring sessions via equity-minded tutoring practices.
    6. Participate in professional learning.
