SEMC is pleased to offer Scholarships to attend the 2024 Annual Meeting in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The SEMC Scholarships are valued at $900: Early-Bird Annual Meeting registration ($400) plus a $500 travel stipend.


For 2024, SEMC is pleased to offer scholarships in the following categories:
- Student
- General Museum Professional
- Seasoned Museum Professional (more than ten years in the field)
- Entry-Level Professional (less than five years in the field)
- Historic House Museum Professional
- African American Museum Professional
- Museum Professional from the Virgin Islands or Puerto Rico ($1,000 travel stipend)
- Small Museum Professional (institution annual operating budget under $500,000)
- President's Scholarship (covers registration only; applicant must live within 100 miles of the conference location)

Eligibility:
a) Must be a current Individual or bundled member of an Institutional member of SEMC at time of application.
b) Not received a SEMC scholarship in past three years
c) Incomplete applications will not be considered. All parts of the application must be sent as a single submission online package. We will not collate your application.

c) Attach Your resume
d) Attach Two (2) letters of support from your museum sponsors and/or museum director.**(student submissions may have one letter of support from a museum sponsor and/or director, and one from an academic institution).

Criteria:
The following factors are considered by the Scholarship Committee:
a) Financial need (not necessarily institutional)
b) Evidence that the annual meeting program answers needs and concerns of the applicant
c) History of involvement in museums
d) Dedication to the museum profession in the Southeast
e) Professional references
f) Distance from the conference location

Deadline and Notification:
Applications must be submitted online through Friday, June 30, 2024.

Applications will be reviewed by members of the Scholarship Committee and all applicants will receive notification via email by Monday, July 31, 2024.
