    NB:

    Na die onderhoud word aansoekers onderwerp aan 'n opleidingsperiode van ongeveer 3 weke (eksamen sal in ag geneem word), waarna die finale groep aangekondig sal word. Toelating tot die opleidingsperiode waarborg nie 'n posisie in die finale groep nie.

    After the interview, applicants will undergo a trial period of approx 3 weeks (exams will be taken into consideration) after which the final group of volunteers will be announced. Acceptance to the trial period does not ensure a spot in the final group

  • Musiekbestuurder / Music Manager


    It is the music manager’s task to:
    I. Stay in regular contact with all record companies in order to maintain professional relationships;
    II. ensure that all music is evaluated according to the values framework of the NWU;
    III. host a weekly playlist meeting where PUKfm members can be involved in the decisions of which music to play and which not to play;
    IV. adjust PUKfm’s music profile to keep up with annual research results, and to keep to this profile;
    V. ensure that all disapproved music is clearly marked and that the reasons for disapproval are made clear to presenters and the person who submitted the music;
    VI. ensure that the PUKfm music procedure is made available to all PUKfm members, and access to it is ensured;
    VII. ensure that PUKfm receives all new music releases on time from the record companies;
    VIII. ensure that a weekly Local Top 30, International Top 40 and a new playlist document is compiled, and also ensure that these lists are digitally published and sent to the record companies;
    IX. arrange interviews with artists who are playlisted on PUKfm;
    X. ensure that interviews are done correctly by broadcasters;
    XI. inform broadcasters in advance if they must perform an interview (12 hours in advance);
    XII. ensure that all playlists, rotations and speciality programmes are updated on a weekly basis
    XIII. stay at the forefront of new music and developments in the industry;
    XIV. combine music industry events for broadcasting purposes;

    Dit is die taak van die musiekbestuurder om:
    I. gereeld met alle platemaatskappye te skakel met die oog daarop om ten alle tye goeie, professionele verhoudinge te handhaaf;
    II. toe te sien dat alle musiekwerke aan evaluering onderwerp word volgens die raamwerk van die waardes van die Noordwes-Universiteit;
    III. Weekliks ʼn speellysvergadering sal hou waar lede van PUKfm betrokke is rakende die besluit oor watter musiek gespeel word en watter nie;
    IV. PUKfm se musiek-profiel sal aanpas by die jaarlikse navorsing wat gedoen word, en ook by hierdie profiel sal hou;
    V. toe te sien dat alle musiek wat afgekeur word duidelik afgemerk word en dat die redes vir afkeuring bekend gemaak word aan omroepers en die persoon wat die musiek voorgelê het;
    VI. toe te sien dat PUKfm se musiekprosedure bekend is aan alle PUKfm-lede, asook dat daar vrylik toegang daartoe verseker word;
    VII. toe te sien dat PUKfm alle nuwe musiekvrystellings stiptelik ontvang vanaf platemaatskappye;
    VIII. toe te sien dat daar weekliks ʼn Plaaslike Top 30, Internasionale Top 40 en nuwe speellys-dokument saamgestel word; dat dit weekliks digitaal gepubliseer word en dit moet ook aan die platemaatskappye gestuur word;
    IX. onderhoude met kunstenaars sal reël wat by PUKfm gelys is;
    X. toesien dat onderhoude korrek deur die omroepers gedoen word;
    XI. omroepers moet vroegtydig ingelig word indien hy/sy ʼn onderhoud moet voer (12 ure voor die tyd);
    XII. toe te sien dat alle speellyste en “speciality” speellyste weekliks opgedatteer word
    XIII. op die voorpunt sal bly van nuwe musiek en verwikkelinge in die industrie;
    XIV. gebeure in die musiekindustrie sal kombineer vir uitsaaidoeleindes
  • Bemarkingsbestuurder / Marketing Manager

    Dit is die taak van die bemarkingsbestuurder om:

    i. PUKfm te bemark deur reklame te maak vir PUKfm in watter media-vorm ook al sinvol of toepaslik vir die doel;
    ii. om seker te maak dat hy/sy op hoogte bly van die tegnologiese verwikkelinge wat hedendaags in die bemarkingsveld geskied, en PUKfm se veldtogte daarvolgens aan te pas;
    iii. in noue samewerking met KSR-Mek en BES te werk te werk;
    iv. gereelde dinkskrums saam te hou om nuwe idees te kry vir die bemarking van PUKfm;
    v. toe te sien dat PUKfm regdeur die jaar bemark sal word;
    vi. toe te sien dat bemarking van PUKfm se programme op ʼn gereelde basis sal plaasvind;
    vii. in samewerking met ander bestuursposte ten minste drie groot en een kleiner promosie of selfs meer ʼn jaar volledig te beplan en uit te voer;
    viii. toe te sien dat alle bemarking strook met die NWU se waardes;
    ix. toe te sien dat PUKfm-bemarking ooreenkom met die bepalings soos vervat in die NWUbemarkingsbeleid;
    x. saam met die Program- en Musiekbestuurder, toe te sien dat PUKfm se Facebook, Twitter en ander sosiale mediaplatforms, optimaal gebruik en bemark word, en ook korrek gebruik word;
    xi. Volle verantwoordelikheid te neem vir PUKfm se bemarkingsmateriaal;
    xii. PUKfm se bemarkingsmateriaal skoon, netjies en in ʼn werkende toestand sal wees na elke bemarkingsgeleentheid;
    xiii. Die bemarkingskomitee effektief sal bestuur;
    xiv. Om saam die skakelingsbestuurder minstens 1 keer per jaar, PUKfm se nuusblad, Die Mikrofoon, uit te bring (in lyn met PUKfm se Korporatiewe Identiteit);
    xv. PUKfm se bemarkingsmateriaal sal belyn met PUKfm se Korporatiewe Identiteit


    It is the marketing manager’s responsibility to:

    i. promote PUKfm by advertising through whichever form of media is deemed appropriate for the purpose;
    ii. ensure that he/she remains up to date with technological developments in the marketing industry, and adjust PUKfm’s marketing campaign accordingly;
    iii. work closely with the SCC and Marketing and Student Recruitment Department
    iv. host regular brainstorming sessions to get new ideas for PUKfm’s marketing;
    v. ensure that PUKfm is marketed throughout the year;
    vi. ensure that PUKfm’s programmes are regularly advertised;
    vii. fully plan and execute at least three big, and one (or more) small promotional event per year;
    viii. ensure that all marketing is consistent with NWU values;
    ix. ensure that PUKfm marketing is in accordance with the provisions contained in the NWU marketing policy;
    x. in collaboration with the Programme and Music managers, ensure that PUKfm’s Facebook and Twitter are used optimally and correctly, and is advertised;
    xi. take full responsibility for PUKfm’s marketing material;
    xii. ensure that PUKfm marketing material is clean, neat and in a working condition after every marketing event;
    xiii. effectively manage the marketing team;
    xiv. publish PUKfm’s newsletter, Die Mikrofoon, with the Liaison manager, at least once a year (in accordance with PUKfm’s corporate identity);
    xv. Align PUKfm’s marketing material with its corporate identity.
  • Liaison Manager / Skakelingsbestuurder

    It is the liaison’s manager’s task to:
    i. keep minutes of all meetings;
    ii. take attendance at all PUKfm meetings;
    iii. take note of:
    1. committee meetings to all PUKfm members;
    2. management meetings to all PUKfm members of management;
    3. socials that are organised for PUKfm members on a regular basis;
    iv. manage correspondence for the committee;
    v. keep an up-to-date list of voting committee members, in other words compile a complete members list;
    vi. ensure that all disciplinary actions are coordinated with the station manager and relevant portfolio manager
    vii. fulfil all secretarial and administrative duties;
    viii. ensure that the office or workstations are always neat and tidy, in collaboration with the cleaning services provided by the university;
    ix. ensure that PUKfm socials do not clash with any other campus activities, as stipulated by the SCC year plan;
    x. ensure that all socials are subject to approval from management;
    xi. ensure that a newsletter, Die Mikrofoon, is made available, at least once a year, to all members of PUKfm as well as certain persons that have been identified outside of PUKfm (e.g. other campus radio stations, residence house committees, staff members, etc.);
    xii. manage and improve internal communications, by way of emails and platforms of interest, among others;
    xiii. organise all camps and dinners;
    xiv. maintain the archives
    xv. coordinate skills development of members with portfolio manager;
    xvi. help with motivation of management and the committee


    Dit is die taak van bogenoemde bestuurder om
    i. notules van alle vergaderings te hou;
    ii. kennis te gee van:
    1. komiteevergaderings aan alle PUKfm-lede;
    2. bestuursvergaderings aan alle PUKfm-bestuurslede
    3. Aksies wat op gereelde basis vir alle PUKfm-lede gereël word
    iii. korrespondensie te behartig van die komitee;
    iv. ʼn lys van stemgeregtigde komiteelede op datum te hou, m.a.w. ʼn volledige ledelys op te stel;
    v. alle aspekte verbonde aan ʼn tugverhoor met die stasiebestuurder en betrokke portefeulje-bestuurder te koördineer
    vi. algemene sekretariële en administratiewe pligte te vervul;
    vii. toe te sien dat die kantoor of werksareas altyd netjies en skoon is in samewerking met die skoonmaakdienste wat deur die universiteit verskaf word;
    viii. toe te sien dat geen PUKfm-aksies bots met enige ander aktiwiteite op die kampus nie soos vervat deur die KSR (Kampusstudenteraad)-jaarbeplanning;
    ix. toe te sien dat alle aksies onderworpe is aan die goedkeuring van die bestuur;
    x. toe te sien dat daar minstens een keer per jaar, ʼn nuusbrief, Die Mikrofoon, verskyn wat beskikbaar gestel word aan alle PUKfm-lede asook sekere persone geïdentifiseer buite PUKfm (bv. ander kampusradiostasies, koshuis huiskomitees, personeellede ens.);
    xi. die interne kommunikasie te bestuur en te verbeter deur gebruik te maak van onder andere e-posse en platvorms wat van belang is.
    xii. Alle kampe en dinees te reël.
    xiii. die argief in stand hou
    xiv. vaardigheidsontwikkeling te koördineer in samewerking met portefeulje-bestuurders
    xv. te help met die motivering van die bestuur en komitee
