Executive Director

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Board of Nursing's Executive Director must be a registered nurse and is accountable for the administration and management of the board office and staff, including but not limited to the board's fiscal operations, records and management of personnel (including hiring, supervising, and firing staff.)

MAJOR JOB TASKS

Represent the board to the public and manage constituent issues.

Manage the daily operations of the board office and staff.

Prepare and present materials for Board Meetings following NPA rules and regulations.

Present agency budget before the Legislative Finance Committee and Annual Report to the Governor.

Approval of expenses for operational needs of the agency.

Manage personnel issues related to recruiting, hiring, and disciplinary actions.

Being a regulatory body responsible for and in all situations for acting in the interest of the public.

Managing constituent complaints and referring the issue for quick resolution to the appropriate division.

Reviewing complaints to be presented to the Board for discipline or other licensure matters.

Ensuing that the Diversion Program Participants and licensees with disciplinary actions comply with the rules set forth in their individual agreements/board actions.
