2023-2024 Parent Opt-Out for State Assessment
The Education reEnvisioned BOCES and their schools and Destinations Career Academy use multiple measures to:
• Determine achievement and growth of students
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum, instruction, and leadership
• Determine the performance level of the students and schools

Summative state assessments are required as one part of our multiple measures and “every student enrolled in a public school is required to take the assessments in the grade level in which the student is enrolled” C.R.S. 22-7- 409 (1.2)(d)(I). Assessment results are used to measure student mastery of the Colorado Academic Standards.

By signing the opt-out form for my child’s participation in District/State Assessment(s), I understand that:

• My child will receive a “No Score” for the below assessment(s) on his or her academic record.

• My child’s teacher will lose a source of information regarding my child’s mastery of district/state standards and academic achievement.
