Group Grant Funding Application
Graduate and Professional Student Association

In all cases, funds must be approved and secured before the event occurs. No reimbursements will be offered after the event or activity has occurred unless prescribed in the Group Grant Funding Application/Proposal and/or approval.

All Group Grant Funding Applications MUST BE SUBMITTED A MINIMUM OF THREE (3) WEEKS IN ADVANCE OF THE PROPOSED EVENT/ACTIVITY.

GAPSA Group Grant Funding helps to fund projects and programs that benefit a wide variety of graduate and professional students beyond one academic program or discipline (as opposed to supporting the work of just one group, organization or academic program). There are two levels to this funding: Social and Academic.

Social: Social Funding is offered in an effort to encourage co-sponsoring of graduate and professional student organized activities outside of academic settings in order to foster a greater sense of community. Funds will be available to recognized clubs/organizations and student academic program organizations. Examples of funding include, but are not limited to, social gatherings, group service or volunteer activities, local trips, campus events, etc.

Academic: Academic Funding is offered to encourage co-sponsoring of graduate and professional student run activities with an academic orientation. Funds will be available for recognized clubs/organizations and student academic program organizations. Past organized events include graduate and professional student conferences and workshops held at the University, diversity speakers, leadership seminars, distinguished speakers, etc. Programs that foster interdisciplinary and/or cross curriculum work and contact will be weighted for approval.

Note: All funding is up to a maximum of $1500 per event, per student group application for an activity/function. Events/activities with a broader scope will be weighted. Fund raising events will be determined on an individual basis. Fundraising activities will be for external organizations and not for sponsoring organization revenue generation. Funding will not be provided for incentives/giveaways or for the direct purchase of goods for donation. Sponsoring organizations are expected to financially contribute to the cost of the event/activity in addition to any approved grant funding. Funding for the 2024-2025 academic year will be from June 1, 2024 to May 31, 2025.
