    2. Prior to the application due date of March 2, 2025, have your school counselor submit an unofficial transcript (see details below).
    3. No materials will be accepted after March 2, 2025 at 11:59 pm.
    4. You will ONLY be notified if you are a recipient of an award.
    5. Your "official residency" must be within the target zones listed on the website.
    6. You may apply for any or all of the following scholarships based on the criteria.

  • Scholarship Essay- (Required) Need to answer essays from Group A & Group B to be considered.

    Please answer a question from Group A and a question from Group B. Each question answered must be a minimum of 300 words.

    GROUP A
    Describe a specific volunteering experience in your community that had a meaningful impact on both you and those you served. What motivated you to get involved? How did your efforts contribute to positive change in your community, and what insights did you gain about the importance of service? Finally, discuss how this experience has shaped your future goals and how you plan to continue making a difference in your community.

    GROUP B
    Describe a challenging situation you faced that required you to overcome significant obstacles. What specific difficulties did you encounter, and what steps did you take to navigate through them? Reflect on the personal qualities and resources that helped you succeed, and how this experience has influenced your growth. How has overcoming this challenge shaped your goals and aspirations for the future, and how do you plan to apply the lessons learned to your academic and professional journey?

    Your response must be a minimum of 300 words.

    Describe how you utilize technology in your academic pursuits. Discuss specific tools or platforms you use, to show how they enhance your learning experience, and any challenges you face in integrating technology into your studies.
  • D. HBCU Essay (Required for HBCU Attendees Only)

    Your response must be a minimum of 300 words.

    Reflect on your personal, academic, and career aspirations as you consider the significance of attending a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). In your essay, discuss how the unique cultural environment, community values and educational opportunities offered by an HBCU align with your goals. How do you believe that the experience of attending an HBCU will shape your identity and prepare you for future challenges?
  • E. Kimberly D. Saxon Family Essay (Required if majoring in Marketing, STEM or Engineering)

    Your response must be a minimum of 300 words.

    If you are pursuing a major in Marketing, STEM or Engineering, reflect on a significant academic achievement that has shaped your educational journey for these particular majors. In your response, discuss the challenges you faced, the strategies you employed to overcome them, and how this achievement has prepared you for future career success. Finally, explain how you plan to integrate your academic and community service experiences to contribute positively to both your chosen field and your community in the future.
  • RECOMMENDATION & TRANSCRIPT INFORMATION

    1. It is the responsibility of the applicant to secure two letters of recommendation from your teacher, counselor, principal, coach, advisor, pastor, etc. Your recommenders need to send their letter of recommendation to the email
    address provided by the March 2, 2025 deadline.


    2. It is your responsibility to provide your counselor with the email address to send your unofficial transcript, student profile sheet that includes your GPA, ACT/SAT scores and your address before the March 2, 2025 deadline.
