Parkway-Rockwood Adult Education and Literacy
FREE classes for Adults!
  • The Parkway-Rockwood Adult Education & Literacy program provides a FREE Substitute Teacher/Paraprofessional certification class. Sign-up for our 11-week session that runs from March 23 - May 27, 2026. All students are required to have a current placement test on file prior to beginning classes. Testing will be done in-person at our Creve Coeur location. Once our office receives your application, a staff member will contact you to set up an appointment for testing.

    Requirements:

    * Must have a Missouri mailing address
    * Must be at least 17 years of age
    * Must have a high school diploma, high school equivalency, or GED.
  • Sub/Para Certification class

    The Substitute/Paraprofessional certification class is an intensive 11-week class to help you prepare and accclimate to being a substitute in a Missouri school district. During this 80 hour class, you will learn all the ins and out of being a substitute teacher or paraprofessional. Not only will you earn your Sub/Para certificate at the end of the class, you will also receive help with lesson plans, resumes, and job interviews.
