Mayor's New Year's Honour List - 2027 Arts
The Mayor’s New Year's Honour List was first awarded in 1976, with the arts being the only category for nomination. Now the list encompasses many areas: Accessibility, Age-Friendly, Arts, Diversity and Race Relations, Environment, Heritage, Housing, Humanitarianism, Safety & Crime Prevention, and Sports.
Citizens of London are nominated in these categories as a means of recognizing the diversity of philanthropic and professional work taking place in our dynamic city. Once the final recipients of the awards are determined, these citizens are formally honoured at the first City Council meeting of the New Year.
On behalf of London City Council the London Arts Council is now accepting nominations in the category of "Arts."
Nomination Criteria
1. To be considered for nomination, an individual must be a resident of London.
2. A nominated individual must have made a substantial and distinguished contribution over a period of time to the fostering and/or realization of the arts within the city of London.
3. Any person currently serving as a member of the London Arts Council Board of Directors or Staff is ineligible for nomination.

Nomination Submission Process

no later than Friday, October 23rd, 2026 at 4:30p.m.
Submissions are vetted by an assessment of the London Arts Council with final recommendation to the City of London. Award recipients will receive formal recognition at the first City Council meeting in 2027. A plaque honouring those persons named each year to the Mayor's New Year's Honour List shall be displayed in a prominent public area of City Hall and shall be updated annually by the City Clerk.
