Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum coverage of $300,000 per incident or the equivalent. (This is the same requirement that Grandpappy Point Marina requires of boats renting slips there.)

I shall comply fully with The Racing Rules of Sailing and all other rules and policies of Texoma Sailing Club that govern this event. I will also comply fully with rules and regulations required by all governmental jurisdictions and authorities: local, state, and federal. The undersigned has in force and effect a policy of liability insurance which covers the owner, skipper, crew, and vessel while engaged in the contemplated activity.

I understand that my right to participate in the boating activities for the Texoma Sailing Club’s 2026 Sailing Season is conditional on my agreement to the following conditions:

ACKNOWLEGEMENT OF RISK
The sport of sailing is a potentially dangerous activity with inherent risks. These risks include strong winds and rough seas, sudden changes in weather, failure of equipment, boat handling errors, poor seamanship by other boats, loss of balance on an unstable platform and fatigue resulting in increased risk of injury and death. Inherent in the sport of sailing is the risk of permanent, catastrophic injury or death by drowning, trauma, bone fractures, head injury, hypothermia and/or heat exhaustion, or other causes. I understand that racing entails sailing near other boats and there is a risk that boats may collide resulting in property damage, injury, and possibly death.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK
I have the sole, exclusive control and management of the boat described herein. I shall be wholly and fully responsible for the control, care and safety of such boat and crew, including any injury or damage caused by me or any crew under my direction and control. I understand that the aforementioned risks may be caused in whole or in part from the negligence of my own actions or the negligent actions of others participating in the event. I knowingly assume all such Risks and responsibility for any damage, liabilities, loses, or expenses that I incur as a result of my participation in any Event.

RELEASE
I AM WAIVING MY RIGHT TO FILE A LAWSUIT AGAINST TEXOMA SAILING CLUB OR ANY OF ITS MEMBERS.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I hereby release from liability and waive any and all rights to sue the Texoma Sailing Club, its committees, judges and officials, sponsors, officers, directors, and members (collectively the “Organizing Authority”) with respect to personal injury, property damage, and/or loss of any kind, including those of negligence and gross negligence, whatever its cause or extent, suffered by myself or my crew and hereby release the Texoma Sailing Club, Texoma Sailing Club Board Members, members, and any race committee members from any and all claims and liabilities arising out of participation in any regatta and all activities relating thereto.

I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THIS DOCUMENT IN ITS ENTIRETY, UNDERSTAND ALL OF ITS TERMS CONDITIONS, AND KNOW IT CONTAINS AN ASSUMPTION OF RISK, RELEASE, AND WAIVER FROM LIABILITY.
