Cat Adoption Application Form
Saving Strays Animal Rescue is a local animal charity based in Bolton. We care for and re-home unwanted cats, dogs, horses, rabbits and would never allow a healthy animal to be put down.

Many of our animals have not had the best start in life and are in need of support from their new families. To ensure they get this it is our policy to carry out home checks on all potential new homes prior to adoption. In this way we hope to provide the most suitable homes for our animals and give them the best possible chance of finding their new forever families.

Saving Strays Animal Rescue is staffed by a small team of volunteers, without whom we could not operate. If you would like to get involved with Saving Strays Animal Rescue and our work, why not make a donation, volunteer or foster. Any help you can offer will always be greatly appreciated by all of us here at Saving Strays Animal Rescue and of course by all of the animals in our care!

PLEASE BE AWARE OF OUR FOLLOWING POLICIES:

* MAIN ROADS
We don’t allow the adoption of cats to families living on, or close to, main roads. This is for the cat’s safety as even indoor-only cats can still escape from a property and very easily be hit by a car.
Exceptions are made for families who have an outdoor enclosure (cattery) which would need to be seen during the home check.

* AGE
Due to a possible life span of 20 years or more, no kittens will be rehomed to anyone over the age of 65. Young animals over 12 months will be considered on an individual basis.
Families with children under the age of 5 are unable to adopt kittens, as per our policy, but may adopt a single/pair of young adult cats. Kittens always need to be adopted as a pair.
All individuals adopting or fostering need to be over the age of 18.

* RENTED ACCOMMODATION
To avoid disappointment, if you live in privately rented accommodation, you will need to provide written proof of authorisation before your application can be considered.
Council rented: as per pre-tenancy agreement.

* KITTENS
Please note that kittens may only be adopted in PAIRS unless there is another animal in the home.

* HOME CHECK
A home check is always carried out prior to our cats being adopted, usually by someone who lives close to you and is already involved in animal rescue. This may be in-person or via video call. This ensures the right cat/kitten is matched to the right family.

The adoption fee is £120 per cat, £240 per pair of kittens.

The following are included in the adoption fee:
- 1st and 2nd vaccinations
- Microchipping to the new owner
- Neutering
- Flea treatment for 1 month and worm treatment for 3 months
- Free pet insurance for 5 weeks
