Registration Form: LGBTQ+ Trauma-Informed Services
Members of the LGBTQ+ community are at a higher risk of experiencing trauma than the general population. This workshop provides information about this disproportionate risk, its impacts, and how clinicians can provide trauma-informed support to members of this population.

As a result of this training, participants will be better able to:
-Define key terms related to the lived experience of people who are LGBTQ+.
-Identify traumatic experiences members of the LGBTQ+ community are at a higher risk of exposure to.
-Describe phenomena that cause this disproportionate exposure to trauma.
-Identify impacts of services that are not trauma-informed on members of the LGBTQ+ community.
-Enact strategies for providing trauma-informed support to members of the LGBTQ+ community.
-Connect to LGBTQ-focused resources and organizations to engage in continuous learning and increase capacity to provide trauma-informed services to members of the LGBTQ+ community.

This workshop will be hosted by STAR via Zoom, and will take place on Friday, September 23, 2022 from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.

Continuing education credits for counselors and social workers are available for a fee of $25.

Pre-registration is required to reserve your spot. Each participant must register separately and must log in to Zoom separately for credit to be given.

This program is approved for 1.5 clinical hours for social workers by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners. This program is approved for 1.5 clock hours for counselors by the Louisiana Counseling Association.
