Class: Stage Combat - Introduction to Quarterstaff
Discover the excitement of the quarterstaff—the classic “workhorse weapon” of English lore—in this lively two‑session workshop open to performers of all levels and experiences. Learn essential techniques including clean attacks, strong parries, and footwork that keeps your combat safe and authentic. You’ll partner up to build confidence and craft smooth, connected choreography. Along the way, you’ll tap into the natural rhythm and flow of the weapon for training that’s focused, fun, and energetic. Leave with a solid foundation in quarterstaff work and a short, dynamic combat sequence ready for the stage.

    • Attend all class sessions. Failure to attend all classes you register for will result in suspension from participating in future Phamaly classes.

    • Complete all assignments to the best of your ability.

    • No cell phones allowed during class time unless it is a necessary accommodation

    • No pictures within class time.

    • Participate in all acting exercises and scene work.

    • No food allowed during class. There will be a 10 minute break for any snack needs.

    • Address any issues that arise privately with the instructor, and leave any outside concerns at the door. Be focused and attentive towards the class!
