I have 4 years of work experience as a Customer Service Representative and all my prior experience was working with US-based companies. I have worked with three different companies, International Calling Service, Health Insurance, and Life Insurance. All with the same niche.
In my first job, I was excited to learn about the industry, meet new people and learn from them. My expectations were met, and working with the company allowed me to gain experience, knowledge, and understanding of the role. However, I was hungry for more because eventually, I wasn't growing with them and since I was still new to the industry I decided that I needed to get a job that is huge, tough, and complicated which I did. The second company I worked with was a prominent health insurance company in the US and I was a process executive. It was tough because we have to answer from different callers and mostly the elderly. The account has a broad scope of work that has to be familiarized and understood. The work experience didn't just provide knowledge and understanding but the ability to learn the necessary skills as a customer representative. Lastly, my recent job experience was with a life insurance company. The responsibility was mostly doing outbound calls dialing more than 500 leads a day, sometimes answering inbound calls, and responding to the text. It is indeed a handful for a job but it has taught me the importance of a customer in a business.
As a customer service representative, I have built up different skills and qualities. Also, I get a great deal of satisfaction out of helping customers. It's the niche that I'm good at and love doing. However, if there are duties or responsibilities which will be requested that I am yet to experience, I am willing to learn and be trained.
