Winter Creativity Contest - Writing Entry

  • Rules, Guidelines & Entry

    Participants must be in middle school or high school (grades 6-12) to be eligible to win. This contest is a "free write" or open-ended contest, which means there are no writing prompts. Entries can be about any topic and written for this contest, from school assignments, or from other events. Please choose the format that best represents your entry. Only one entry is permitted per category. Entries found to have been plagiarized will be disqualified, and participants will be barred from future participation.
  • Contest entry must be uploaded as a Word document (.doc or .docx) or PDF. Please remove identifying information, such as your name or school, if applicable.
  • I have followed the rules and guidelines as outlined; my work is original work. If my writing is selected, I agree that the Alexandria Library and/or designated media outlets may use my work, including reproducing it digitally and/or in print.
  • Parent/Guardian Permission

    Please provide contact information for a parent/guardian. The parent/guardian will be contacted by Alexandria Library staff to confirm participation and contest agreements.
  • I have read the rules and guidelines and allow my child to submit an original written work to the Alexandria Library. I understand that this work may be reproduced by the Alexandria Library and/ or used in other designated media outlets (using only first name and last initial to identify).
