Cummings-AFP Fellowship Program 2026-2028
Application Form

The Cummings-AFP Fellowship, which is funded through a generous grant from the Cummings Foundation, is available to organizations in Suffolk, Essex and Middlesex counties, plus Brookline, Dedham, Milton, Needham, Quincy, and Wellesley. While all applicants will be considered, this program is placing a special emphasis on awarding these scholarships to small and mid-sized organizations, and individuals with 5 years or less of direct fundraising experience.

An organization can use the entire $2,000 award over the course of two years for training and networking programs offered by AFP Massachusetts, and can nominate 1 or 2 individuals within the organization to share the award. Award recipients are encouraged to attend Fundraising Day in Boston - AFP MA's Annual Conference, the Fundraising Fundamentals course, the Emerging Leaders in Fundraising course, and other chapter programs, including virtual webinars. The full list of offerings can be found at
AFP Massachusetts educational programs page.

Award recipients will be notified by the end of September 2026. The awarded fellowships will be active through August 31, 2028. The award will be assigned to the organization but used by confirmed staff members. If an individual leaves the organization, the remaining credit toward programs stays with the organization and can be used by other staff members (only after notifying the AFP MA office at info@afpmass.org). Award credits not used before August 31, 2028 will not carry over and will expire.

The Cummings-AFP Fellowship Program 2026-28 application deadline is Monday, September 14, 2026 by 5:00 PM EST. For questions, please reach out via info@afpmass.org.
