Trail Patrol Volunteer Interest Form
We have recently changed the format of our trail patrol 'training' to a mentorship-styled training program.

- It allows new trail patrol volunteers to sign-up at any time throughout the season, allowing flexibility, comparatively to hosting a set time training session 1-3 times a year.
- New volunteers can learn by doing from existing volunteers, instead of via a powerpoint presentation from staff.
- Existing volunteers can share their experiences and stories with new volunteers.

The process:
- Anyone who is interested in becoming a trail patrol volunteer completes this form.
- Upon completion staff will receive an email and will coordinate a training day & time that is convenient for both parties, the new volunteer and the trail patrol mentor.
- On the day of, the trail patrol mentor takes the new volunteer out on the trail and discusses what trail patrol is, why it is important to the Garden, what is involved/duties, how to be prepared/safety precautions, and any other tricks of the trade they might have to share.
- A small package will be available for the new volunteer including a map of the garden, a FOG volunteer application & interest form, a join fog brochure, MUNBG’s calendar of events, and an information sheet regarding trail patrol.
- Upon completion of a trail patrol mentorship training, should the new volunteer decide to become a FOG member and volunteer they can then start as a trail patrol volunteer at their convenience.
