2021 Award Nominations

The Association of Fundraising Professionals - Rhode Island Chapter (AFP-RI) is seeking nominations for its annual National Philanthropy Day awards ceremony for:

• Outstanding Philanthropic Citizen
• Outstanding Philanthropic Business

NOMINATION PROCESS (Self-nominations and nominations from prior years are encouraged and welcome!)

1. Please complete the following application for the appropriate award category.
2. For self-nominations, please include 2 supporting recommendations.
3. Return your application as soon as possible but no later than Friday, July 16, 2021.

A few things to note:
• AFP-RI encourages and seeks out a diverse pool of nominees.
• Nominations are strictly confidential.
• Final awardees are subject to the approval of the AFP-RI Board of Directors.
• Awardees will be honored at the second VIRTUAL NPD celebration on Thursday, November 18, 2021 and in AFP-RI emails and social media posts leading up to and following NPD.
• Previous award recipients are not eligible for consideration in the same category until a minimum of 10 years has passed.

  • Outstanding Philanthropic Citizen Award

    This Award is presented to an individual or family who has demonstrated outstanding generosity in the service of humankind and has inspired others to become philanthropic and civic leaders. The nominee needs to have made contributions to multiple non-profit organizations as a donor and/or a volunteer. Nominees do not need to have substantial wealth, but need to have made a significant contribution to our community in proportion to their means/abilities.

    Award presented to a for-profit company that has demonstrated outstanding civic and charitable generosity to not-for-profit organizations as a donor and through volunteerism.
