Jesus Triumphant Entry Into Jerusalem
Read Luke 19:28-40 (can be found here if you don't have a Bible - https://bible.usccb.org/bible/luke/19).
The crowds were recognizing Jesus as Messiah on Sunday and many of the same people shouted to crucify him five days later. Do you think it was mob mentality or the weakness of the human condition? Do you ever see this type of action played out today? How can you be more consistent in expressing what you beleive?

Jesus Weeps Over Jerusalem
Continue to read Luke's gospel 19:41-44.
Have you ever been so disappointed in something or someone that you sat down and wept? If you feel comfortable - please share.

We hear in Luke of Jesus' great disappointment and frustration that He cannot help Jerusalem and it’s people. The people of Jerusalem do not accept His message of justice and peace, so the Temple and Jerusalem are to be destroyed again. Jesus is so upset that He weeps. We often forget that although Jesus is fully God, He is also fully human and experienced the things that normal people experience. He enjoyed excitement, laughter and fun times with friends. He also experienced fear, sadness and frustration. He was completely human in all things but sin.
What does it mean to you that Jesus shares our humanity?

HOLY THURSDAY
Holy Thursday Mass is when we celebrate both servant leadership Jesus demonstrates by washing the feet of his disciples AND the Last Supper which is the Institution of the Eucharist. The Last Supper was the First Mass! This is one of the holiest days in our faith.
Please participate in Liturgy on Holy Thursday at 7pm, either in person or remotely. You can stream Mass from our parish at www.olshop.org and click "Live Stream." If attending or participating via live stream is impossible, please watch the Holy Thursday Mass via the OLV YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIDj7sOAWo_fUKPtg9i_niA
What is something that stood out to you at Holy Thursday Mass? Have you ever attended Mass on this Holy Day in the past? Pray that you could enter into the mystery of the Last Supper with with everyone.

Jesus said to them, "If I, therefore the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another's feet. I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should do also."
What does it mean today to "wash someone's feet"? Who is someone who has "washed your feet" in the past year/during this pandemic? How?
Is there a person in your life you know you should be serving more but are afraid to? How might you be able to overcome this fear to follow Jesus' model?

GOOD FRIDAY
Please attend or watch the live stream of the Living Stations of the Cross done by fellow teens in the parish on Good Friday at 7pm.
What particular Station do you most identify with? Why? What character in the story? How is this part of the story of the Passion like your own story?
You can find a list of them written out here:

"My God, my God why have you forsaken me?" Jesus cries these words just before his death on the cross. While God never abandoned his Son, Jesus, in his humanity, feels a sense of despair and abandonment as he suffers.
Have you ever felt abandoned by God? When?
How can the Passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus help you trust that just as God never abandoned Jesus, God never has nor will abandon you?

HOLY SATURDAY
Holy Saturday can often get lost in the "Triduum" (the 3 days leading up to Easter). Holy Thursday and Good Friday are clear events and we hold services to both relive and enter in to their mystery. Even though Saturday evening is when we celebrate the Easter Vigil, and welcome new members into our church across the world, it is also important to reflect on the significance of what happened on this day in Jesus' time.
We believe after Jesus died, as it says in our Creed, that he descended into the dead. All those who died before Jesus' sacrifice were dead in sin. His sacrifice not only saved us in the future but it saved all those who came before. He went to set them free and bring them into Heaven.
Watch this artistic animation depicting this artist's view of what that looked like. While you are watching, take time to reflect on the significance of what took place after Jesus died on the cross but before he rose from the dead. Think about how that began the Communion of Saints in heaven. Thank Jesus in your heart for all he did.

On earth while all this was going on, the disciples were confused and grief-stricken. Though it is clear to us now knowing the full story, what came next to them was confusing. They were fearful for their own lives. They lost their friend and leader. They weren't sure what came next and had to WAIT IN HOPE that all the promises would be true and something wonderful was to come, though they weren't sure what, when, or how.
What is a "Holy Saturday" you have experienced in your life where you had to wait in hope for a coming promise? Were you able to find God in the waiting? Why or why not?

EASTER SUNDAY
Please attend or live stream Mass on this most exciting day to be a Catholic Christian in the calendar.
“‘Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?’ The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:54-57)
Because of Christ’s sacrifice, we are one with Him again.
What do you think it would have been like to BE THERE when Jesus rose from the dead?
What does Christ's death and resurrection mean to you in your life? If a non-Christian friend were to ask you what you celebrate today, what would you say? Why does it matter?

Do you have any special prayer requests that Mrs. Sarah and Mrs. Lynn can pray for?
Have a Blessed and Happy Easter!!
