    All of the below will be verified in your annual file audits. This is your legal declaration that you are doing or will do these things.
  • By far, the number one reason brokers lose their broking careers is not verifying income that lenders find out later to be false. The lenders then investigate the income documentation to find errors on the documents or that they do not match bank statements. The lenders then terminate the broker causing them substantial difficulty in proceeding as a broker.
  • Mortgage Australia's requirement in regards to the Privacy Authority is that you must provide a Privacy Authority to a client with the Credit Guide. However, you only need to get this signed if you will do a credit check on that client. We also include the Privacy Authority again in the Credit Proposal so it is signed before you submit it to a lender.

  • The definition of a complaint is "An expression of dissatisfaction made to an organisation, related to its products or services, or the complaints handling process itself, where a response or resolution is explicitly or implicitly expected".   • It is illegal to charge fees that are in anyway related to a clawback and you must have a Credit Quote signed by the client and stored on the deal.
  • CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

  • Although 20 hours is the CPD requirement set by ASIC, the FBAA requirement is 25 hours and the MFAA is 30.
  • If you have been a credit rep for less than 12 months, it is okay to put in less than 20 hours, but you will need to complete 20 hours before the year is up.
  • We only require a general statement as to the sorts of activies you will be doing to obtain your CPD points for the next year (eg., a sepcific training course, lender sessions, compliance training, product training, LEARN on AFG, etc). Things to consider are:
    - The training you intend to complete to maintain your existing skill set; and
    - The training you intend to complete to obtain new skills; and
    - The training you intend to complete to manage your understanding of changes in the industry.
