The 16-hour basic rifle course will cover firearms safety, situations for rifles on patrol, rifle nomenclature, zeroing iron sights, shooting fundamentals, shooting positions, maintenance/cleaning and proper storage of the carbine rifle. This is a preparatory course for the Intermediate Patrol Rifle Course.
Equipment Needed:
Semi auto rifle with 2 magazines
300-500 rounds rifle ammunition
Eye and ear protection
Firearms cleaning equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Drinking water
Inclement weather gear (wind/rain)
Sun block
Important:
While attending any live-fire weapons training it is recommended to wear personal body armor. For clear recognition of the firearms instructor, he/she will be wearing a red shirt therefore it is requested students not wear red shirts.
