Updated Fall 2022
Dispositions are the values, commitments and professional ethics that influence student teacher behaviors toward students, families, colleagues, and communities and affect student learning, motivation, and development as well as the educator's own professional growth.

  • Student Teacher Dispositions

Student teaching is the capstone exercise for the Wartburg Teacher Education Program. While still learning about the knowledge and skills necessary to be a teacher alongside a capable mentor, it is expected that student teachers demonstrate the appropriate attitudes and values throughout their student teaching experience. Any time cooperating teachers indicate a “1,” the department will implement an intervention plan with the student, cooperating teacher, and supervising faculty. Any “1’s” on the final evaluation may result in the student teacher failing the course.
