MACS Parent & Caregiver Advocacy Cohort
This is a year of major consequence at the Minnesota State legislature and the MACS Advocacy Team is amping up our grassroots efforts to advocate for the entire Charter Public School Community. To that end, we are running a Parent and Caregiver Advocacy Cohort in the fall. Interested parents who are solid advocates are encouraged to fill out this form or contact our team (emails below) for more information,

What does MACS need from this cohort?

We need parents/caregivers to share their perspectives on why they chose their charter school for their child and why charters matter at the Capitol with Lawmakers this coming year. MACS is running a three session training to help parents craft their advocacy story, effectively advocate on the broader-shared charter issues, and learn how to influence lawmakers. The three sessions will be virtual, in the evenings, every other week, starting in mid-October and we will provide a stipend to all participants.

Please contact Shannon Mitchell, MACS Public Policy & Advocacy Director, at (218) 464-2449 or shannon@mncharterschools.org or Genevieve Johnson, MACS Administrative & Operations Association at genevieve@mncharterschoolsorg with any questions, concerns, comments, or requests.
