Holiday DeLight Parade Registration Form
This year is the 30th Anniversary of the Cedar Rapids Holiday DeLight Parade! We're celebrating this year's holiday season by lighting up downtown as much as we can! We encourage you to incorporate and add extra lights and classic holiday elements into your float, vehicle or costumes to illuminate Downtown!

Please submit your entry to the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance using the form below by Friday, November 22, 2013.

Parade Details:
Date: Saturday, December 7, 2013
Location: Downtown Cedar Rapids
Parade Route: Traditional Route, starting on 6th Street SE to move down 2nd Avenue, flow onto 2nd Street and loop to 3rd Avenue and end near Greene Square Park.

*Your entry fee will only be returned if the parade is cancelled.

  • Parade Rules

    *All entry forms must be received by Friday, November 22, 2013.

    *All entries must incorporate some kind of lighting to their float to participate, except those vehicles pulling floats, or carrying special guests.

    *All entries must provide their own signs and vehicles. Signs need to have large type and must be lighted to be easily read by the crowd and parade judges.

    *All entries must be less than 13 feet tall to clear the skywalk system and stop lights.

    *Do not throw candy or objects into the crowd. This is for the safety of parade spectators and participants. You may hand out candy, coupons or other items along the parade route.

    *A minimum of 2 A10BC-type fire extinguishers must be provided on each entry, but is not necessary for walking units. If an individual is in an enclosed float, there should be one extinguisher inside your entry and another extinguisher outside.

    *Entry materials must be flame-retardant and all wiring must be properly secured to prevent injury and mechanical damage.

    *Portable generators or compressors used on entries must be securely mounted and fastened on a substantial base. A minimum of 12 inches clearance must separate any part of the generator/compressor from combustible fabrication material.

    *All batteries and battery packs must be concealed within the costume and all wiring must be concealed or attached to the individual.

    ***The official Santa Claus will be on the last float as designated by the parade committee. No other person impersonating a Santa character is permitted in the parade.***
  • By checking this box and submitting this form, you agree to abide by all rules listed above, obey Parade Marshals and fully release the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, the Cedar Rapids Holiday Parade Committee, all Cedar Rapids Holiday Parade sponsors, and the City of Cedar Rapids from any liability or damage which may occur a) to participants in your entry, and/or b) as a result of actions by a participant in your entry.
