It is essential that children are baptised before they can receive Holy Communion. If your child has not been baptised in a Catholic Church, we may still be able to proceed with the programme and incorporate Baptism (or "Reception" if they are validly baptised elsewhere) along the way, but we will need to contact you to discuss this.

Most of the children on the Sacramental Programme will be attending Holy Cross and All Saints or St Gilbert's Primary Schools. We can also accept children from other schools, though normally we would expect them to be resident in this parish. Additional classes will be provided for those who attend non-Catholic schools, so that they do not miss out on those parts of the preparation which would otherwise be school-based.

Photographs are normally taken, and are displayed (without names) on a board in the churches. We need your permission for this, and will respect your wishes if you prefer your child's photo not to be taken.
TERMS
The programme is all about completing your child's journey into the Church - the Family of God. Regular attendance at Mass (on Saturday evening or Sunday) is an essential part of this journey. In submitting this form, you promise to help your child prepare for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, including the assurance of attendance at Mass, and agree to take part fully in the preparation provided by the parish. Members of the Sacramental Programme Team will assist you in every way they can.
