2025 ViPS Jane Mendel Reading Day:
The tradition continues on Tuesday, November 18!

UPDATE: Currently we are taking registrations for SUBSTITUTE READERS. If you would be willing to read as a substitute please provide your information below.
If/when a reading opportunity becomes available we will contact you.

It is our goal to have a community reader in every elementary classroom in the Little Rock School District on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2025.

Won't you help us? It takes less than an hour to arrive at a school, select a book and read to a class. Most assignments are made between 8:30 am and 11:00 am in 20-30 minute blocks. Most readers choose to read to two classes back-to-back when space is available.

  • Help us fill every LRSD elementary classroom with a reader. Flexibility is appreciated!

    If you are interested in reading, please register. Substitutes will be called as cancellations occur. Thank you!

  • Specific classroom requests are filled in the order they are received.

  • Would you be willing to read to two classes at the same school, back-to-back?
