2019 MiniBytes—little time, big impact
Do you have information, insight, or idea you want to share with your colleagues? Are you interested in speaking at Care Providers of Minnesota convention but hesitant to do a full 75-minute presentation? We have just the option for you: MiniBytes.

Back by popular demand, MiniBytes are 15-minute sessions with one presenter on a focused topic. MiniBytes are grouped together by topic/profession. A one-page resource handout is all that is required of you as a MiniBytes speaker.

How do you get started? Fill out the form, agree to terms, and submit your mini proposal.

  • Session titles will help attendees determine which sessions to attend. Titles should describe, to the best extent possible in the text allowed, what the session will be about.
  • Please provide a description of what your session will cover in paragraph format. (No bullet point lists, please.) If you are selected to present, the description submitted here will be used in promotional materials and on the convention website. Convention attendees will also use this description to determine which sessions to attend. Please make it as descriptive as possible, within the character limit allowed.
  • Learning objectives are a continuing education requirement and describe what attendees should be able to do as a result of attending your session. Each objective should begin with a verb to show actionable results.
  • Please indicate whether your information is specific to SNF/NF or senior housing/assisted living/home care. Select All Audiences if your information applies to both settings. This will assist attendees in selecting the appropriate session for their work situation.
  • Care Providers of Minnesota welcomes proposals for all experience levels; novice, intermediate, and advanced. However, many attendees are experienced professionals and we will give extra consideration to proposals focused on advanced sessions.
  • Attendees will use these suggestions to choose which sessions they will attend. Please select the groups that will most benefit from attending your session. (Select all that apply)
  • SPEAKER INFORMATION

  • Please provide a concise description of of the speaker's professional background. Biographical information for each speaker is a continuing education requirement. This information will also be used in convention promotional materials and as an introduction onsite. Please provide this information in paragraph format. Bulleted lists, resumes, curriculum viate and other such formats are not acceptable and will be returned for re-write.
  • TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • • MiniBytes session speakers must be registered for convention.
    • MiniBytes session speakers will not be compensated and are responsible for their own convention-related expenses.
    • MiniBytes sessions are non-commercial forums, and under no circumstances should they be used as a place for direct promotion of a product, service, or for monetary self-interest.
    • MiniBytes session speakers are expected to create a one-page handout (may be double-sided) for their session and send in electronic format to Julia Hansen (jhansen@careproviders.org) by September 27, 2019.
    • Due to timing constraints, use of audiovisual or PowerPoint slideshow during MiniBytes sessions is prohibited.
    • Speakers represent and warrant to Care Providers of Minnesota that s/he owns (or has obtained valid permission to use) all copyrights and other intellectual property in the presentation and that none of it will infringe the rights of any third party.
    • If Speaker has obtained valid permission to use any copyrighted material or other intellectual property, s/he will clearly identify such material and its third-party owner. Speakers are responsible for the accuracy of the information.
    • Speakers must inform Care Providers of Minnesota within 30 days prior to their scheduled presentation date if, for any reason, the session will not be presented and make every effort to find a suitable replacement for their presentation time and topic.
    • By presenting at the convention, speakers acknowledge and agree that photographs may be taken by Care Providers of Minnesota or parties acting on behalf of Care Providers of Minnesota, and that these photographs may be used by Care Providers of Minnesota in any media now known or later invented for any purpose related to Care Providers of Minnesota’s mission, including educational, promotional, and awareness-related uses.
