USD 250 Foundation provides teacher grants to support creative and innovative practices that significantly impact the lives of the students of USD 250. We annually allocate approximately $20,000 to fund teacher grants. Grant requests should align with the curricular goals of the district and school.

Grants are intended to be supplementary to the curriculum or co-curricular activities of the district. Grants may be awarded to schools, grade levels, departments, classrooms or groups of USD 250 educators. Priority will be given to projects focused on structured literacy and ways to enhance stand skills to improve student scores on state assessment test. Grants will not be awarded for large technology projects; those are funded through the district.

Grant applications may be submitted for any amount up to $1,500. Each elementary school will be automatically granted $500 for field trips; there is no need to apply for them. Grant proposals must be approved by a teacher's building administrator.

The Foundation Grant Committee will review each application and determine which requests will be fully or partially funded. Awards will be announced prior to Winter Break. Grants will be awarded in January. Expenditures of grant funds should be made prior to the end of the school year in May.
