2024 Ed Maloney Scale Model Contest - November 2
To enter your Scale Model (up to three) in the 7th Annual Ed Maloney Scale Model Contest please complete and submit this form. Contest is open only to active Museum Members, current Museum Volunteers, donors to the Model Room, and members of the Junior Modeler's Club.

  • Contest Rules

    You may enter up to three models (any scale) in the appropriate division(s).
    ◘ All scale model entries must be made by the contest participant by submitting this ENTRY FORM. This form must be received by midnight on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
    ◘ Subject matter must match Division (Aircraft or Armor)
    ◘ All contestants must bring their models to the Planes of Fame Air Museum on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Models must be ready for display by 8:45am on that day.
    ◘ Judging will be conducted prior to and during the November 2, 2024 "Hangar Talk" presentation in the Maloney Hangar at the Planes of Fame Air Museum.
    ◘ Judging will be done by those in attendance using a silent ballot. The scale model in each division receiving the most votes will receive first place, the second most will receive second place, and the third most will receive third place.
    ◘ Judging will end at 11:00am on November 2, 2024.
    Winners will be announced at the conclusion of the "Hangar Talk" presentation at 12:00pm.
    ◘ Divisions for Entry:
    ○ Junior Modelers Aircraft Division 1 (Ages 11 and under)
    ○ Junior Modelers Aircraft Division 2 (Ages 12 to 17 years old)
    ○ Adult Modelers Aircraft Division 1 (Beginners to Intermediate model building experience)
    ○ Adult Modelers Aircraft Division 2 (Six or more years of model building experience)
    ○ Armor Division (any type of military vehicle - open to all ages)
    ◘ Non-winning entries may be taken home after 12:00pm on November 2, 2024. Winning models will go on public display at the Museum until Saturday, January 4, 2025 and can be picked up any time after this date.
    ◘ Contest leadership reserves the discretion to move Adult Modeler Aircraft from one category to another based on the perceived model builder's skill.

    Bring your model(s) to the Planes of Fame Air Museum on Saturday, November 2, 2024 by 8:45am. Non-winning entries may be taken home on that day, but we ask all winning contestants to allow their models to be on public display at the Museum until Saturday, January 4, 2025.
