Merchant Living History Demonstrations

The Faire is looking to enhance our living history section of our Renaissance Faire.

MERCHANTS are invited to showcase their unique craft or living history skill such as glassblowing, blacksmithing, weaving, cookery, or other Renaissance crafts. All ideas will be considered, so be creative!

Demonstrating MERCHANTS must be able to perform (3) twenty-five minute demonstrations on all public and (2) twenty-five minute demonstrations on School Days. Those demonstrations will be scheduled on the daily writ.

Demonstrating MERCHANTS may be able to conduct individual workshops with patrons for a fee, provided ticketing is advertised and sold through the Faire’s general ticketing system.

Additional Requirements

MERCHANT must provide a rough script of the demonstration to the Entertainment Director and be prepared to “perform” the demonstration to the Entertainment Directors upon request prior to the season.

MERCHANT must be able to perform to more than 20 Patrons per demonstration in order to qualify as a Demonstrator, in either bleacher or bench seating.

MERCHANT shall be notified by the MERCHANT COORDINATOR of any reduction in booth fees or stipends granted.

MERCHANT will also be required to sign an Entertainment Contract and adhere to its provisions.

MERCHANT may be able to erect or utilize a space(s) outside of the MERCHANT’S principal operational space as approved by the Faire.
